[Her free hand comes up to rest gently on the side of his face. She gives him a small stroke of her thumb. You could say it was another touch for reassurance, but it was more out of curiosity. She is a young woman who has some odd experience thanks to the bots, but not a great deal outside of that.

She leans in, tipping her head and closing her eyes as she brings her lips close enough to meet his. The first touch is more of a brushing if anything—it's hesitant, gentle, exploring. Then she presses in more fully.

She barely knows this boy. What she does know of him should probably have made her turn around the moment she saw him today, but it did just the opposite. She sees something of a kindred spirit in him whether it's warranted or not. Maybe because she needs one right now. She just keeps losing people and she's not someone who does well on her own. So, it's a selfish thing, but she lets the kiss linger if for no other reason than to have company that much longer.]

[He relaxes into her touch. No one else he's ever met has been particularly tactile: no hand-holding, no casual displays of affection, no physical contact just because. It's nice. Grounding.

When she closes her eyes, he follows suit (that's how people kiss on the television, after all). Maybe there's a reason that people close their eyes when they kiss. Maybe it's to heighten sensation, because even the exploratory brush of her lips against his sets nerves he didn't even know he had on fire. It's only natural to press for a little more.

He squeezes her hand with a little more confidence and sighs into the kiss. Mercifully, there aren't any images playing out in his head. His thoughts are quiet, all of his mindfulness centered on three points of contact.

The bot's congratulatory confetti goes quite unnoticed.]

But it isn't long before such things require more breath than she can reasonably get this way, so the press of lips is broken with just the tiniest sound at the loss of suction. And now she's looking at him and she's a lot closer than most people ever get, but it's not weird or uncomfortable. He meets her eyes searchingly. Nathan doesn't know what he's looking for, really; hidden disgust, maybe, or a reflection of the pictures he's afraid to see. There's none of that, just something kind of sad and lonely. (Or maybe he's projecting. He's read about that.) All he needs to do now is say the right thing.]
