I hope everyone had a great Christmas, and an equally amazing New Year's. If anyone's got an outstanding hangover, the Normandy's medical bay probably has something to improve how you feel, though I would also recommend knowing how to not overdo it too much in future.

All of the equipment from Anders's clinic has appeared in the Normandy's medical bay. I know he's not here anymore, but you were working with him. If you'd like to continue the idea of having somewhere for everyone to come if they're injured, you're more than welcome.

The near perfect snow outside, the elegantly elaborate nature of the Yule celebration. Very reminiscent of my days at Hogwarts. At least this place knows how to do one thing right.

Back in my day, Christmas was a family affair. Buck and I think it's only fitting, then, to invite all of you up to our hugely overdecorated condo for Christmas dinner, drinks, and It's a Wonderful Life, a movie I'm given to understand is a holiday classic that's almost as old as me.

Anyone care to explain all this green shite and lights everywhere?

I've never been big on the American holidays, but I suppose this year I have no choice.

I don't know where this sudden weather came from or what it means, but I can tell you that the Normandy's sensors are going damn haywire about it. We're in for a hell of a ride. I recommend that everybody try and stay inside as much as possible. If you do go outside, avoid wide open spaces and any bodies of water or you'll be a tasty target for lightning strikes.

If anyone's stuck outside and can't make it back to a safe place, let me know. Anderson and I can come get you in the Normandy's mission shuttles. You might end up staying on the Normandy for a while, but it's got plenty of room and it's a lot damn better than dying.

Some have lost their animals? I hope it not my fault, yesterday I woke up to one sleeping next to me. I did not think I would get one and it is as nice as you have all said.

Now I am thinking it could be because I have got one that some are losing theirs.

It's funny - I was annoyed about Alexei and his continued commentary on certain personal areas of my life, but now I'm thinking he might be right about one or two points.

I just refuse to tell him that.

This is beyond belated, but consider it a blanket apology for any of my behaviour at the Halloween party last month. I had no idea dressing up would end up being so interesting. And if I aimed any harsh words at anyone, the apology applies doubly. If it helps, I generally don't dress up for things. Or dance. Those things always go badly.

And I'm not normally one to make a remark on the weather, especially since you can't expect every single planet in the Milky Way to have bright sunshine, but the last few days - specifically today - have been quite a lot colder then I would associate with the Las Vegas back home. Or is it just me? I'm not complaining, and it sure looks like Anderson's loving this weather. With his thick and furry coat, I'm not surprised and hope that he'll be able to handle the heat when it hits us again. But as we get even closer to the winter months, we'll all need to be careful when we're out and about. In this place, there's no telling what could happen.

I have been here before but I have no memory of it.

I've woken up to a lot of things, but never have I woken up with a wild animal curled into a dozing ball at my feet on my bed. Did I mention that it talks? Well, it does. Sorry, he does. This shouldn't feel right at all, but somehow it does. Anyone else having the same weird morning?

What's the price of this place? My soul? My...what?

In case anyone was worried, the Milano is okay and we have been reunited!

It's great to have everyone back in the same place. To clear up confusion and allay any concerns anybody might have, a small collection of us were returned to our original circumstances on the first day of the month. Now that I've been able to talk with some of the people who we believed were missing until very recently, it seems as though they merely remained in the place that had been our newest home for a little while longer.

To those who ended up staying longer than the rest of us, rest assured - we weren't turned into thin air, nor did we get spirited away to some unknown or unfriendlier place. We were merely returned to our original Vegas, sporting its unbreakable shield and all.

And I'm sure that I speak for all of us when I say, we're very glad to have everyone back in the same place.

It was nice to see a familiar skyline when I woke up this morning, not to mention my ship looking so fantastic in the morning sunshine. I've missed all of it more than I realised.

I can't ignore that it's not all positive, though. There's a lot of names missing in my phone this morning, and I've got a feeling it's the same for all of us. I refuse to think that they've just vanished without some kind of reason or explanation. We need to figure out exactly how many people have disappeared, and find out where they are and how we can get them back safe and sound as quickly as possible.

If we ever get back to what passes for regular Vegas I got a lot of plans. I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to sleeping in a bed I can count on. You know how many times I had to reinforce my bed at the Mandalay? None. Not fucking once. Four times already on the piece of shit I've been using here and it still sounds like it's about to buckle somewhere whenever I so much as sit on the damn thing. I'd sleep on the floor but then why bother paying for the room at all? These people ain't even trying outside of guns and drugs anymore.

Other plans include parking my ass in the air conditioning and catching up on Netflix. I thought after Shep grew up again I might be all swimmed out for the next few centuries but I've been ready to get back in the pool for at least a week now. Christ, I really do miss air conditioning. Spent longer without it than I ever did with it over my lifetime but it doesn't take too long to prefer not sweating your balls off.

Heads up, everyone. There's yet another gang in competition for the strip, but this one is serious business - the NCR databases have them classified as slavers. If you can stay out of the strip, I really recommend that you do so. If you are still in the strip, you need to find a safe place to lay low as quickly as possible.

I don't care if you think you're stronger than them, if you think that you can beat them on your own, if you think that their actions won't affect you - in the end, it isn't worth a damn and I don't want to hear about it. What's important right now is that we help each other and stick together wherever possible, because that's definitely one of the ways that we'll get through this.
