I feel like now is an appropriate time to remind people that this place seems better traversed in pairs. Preferably pairs who trust one another.

Genuinely can't wait to see what this year has in store for me.

I can't help but feel a little jolly with all the decorations around.

Storms, random animals appearing... it seems the latest curve balls from this place aren't nearly as deadly as past ones.

There's a lot to be thankful for this year, although it may not feel that way. I'm thankful that I've got both new and old friends here.

Okay, who had the bright idea to put a baby bear in my room?

Blanket apology - I don't remember much about what I did on Halloween night, though I don't think I ate the worm in the tequila. That being said, if I did anything untoward I am genuinely sorry.

I have no idea what to dress as for Halloween.

Turns out Midnight is a healthy kitty, although he's a little undersized. The vet recommended some special food, and said he's going to be a fluffy guy.

I went for a walk earlier, and nearly tripped over a kitten. He looked hungry, so I picked him up and found a pet store with someone who could check the little guy over. I guess I'm now the proud owner of a kitten.

He just needs a name.

When and if we get back, I see self-defense lessons in my future.

I can't say thank you enough to Selina and Matt for helping me get to the safe area. I'm no slouch when I have a baseball bat in hand, but watching those two was like getting a free show and the safest escort this lawyer has ever received.

I woke up to find two little old ladies standing over me with smiles on their faces, and a third holding a knife to my throat. I don't know where I am, but they took everything I had minus the clothes on my back.

Anyone else having that kind of morning?

Feels a bit weird to say this, considering, but if anyone needs any legal assistance I'm not really doing anything else here.

How come this doesn't look like my room? Where's my mom?

I don't know why, but today I was reminded of the fact that my mom wanted me to be a butcher. I could have had my own shop, and be carving corned beef, but I told her 'no mom, I want to be a lawyer, and fight the good fight'. Guess I should have listened to mom.
