The Los Angeles Police Department is preparing for what has been called the War on Gangs in the downtown LA area. In recent weeks, the county has seen a sharp upswing in the number of violent crimes which has lead law enforcement to speculate that a new type of gang warfare has flooded our streets. No longer are criminals limited to vandalism and theft. Now they appear to be working for no other purpose than to create panic in the streets.
"They're terrorists!" Barbara Casey, a local woman and mother of four, told reporters earlier today. "They don't want to steal from us. They want to scare us."
Police continue the search for missing police officers Cole and Merindez as well as their captors, now believed to be part of this sudden rise in gang activity. Local hospitals have reported that they believe the group is heading for the suburbs, as they leave a trail of devastation behind them. Dozens of victims have been admitted in the last several hours reporting broken bones and lacerations. There have been no reported deaths but one thing seems to be clear: The group is growing in number.
If you have any information, the LAPD have set up a help line at: (213) 486-1000
