Everyone knows the story of Harry Potter. Born to Lily and James Potter, left a scarred orphan before his second birthday, and deemed The Chosen One after Voldemort's return. The boy who spent a year scouring the country for the remaining Horcruxes while war raged and countless died.

But what if you could change history?

Shortly before his death in 1997, Albus Dumbledore held a meeting with the Order of the Phoenix, and he invited several of the adult members of the D.A. as well. With the help of the Department of Mysteries, he was able to procure what few time turners remained, and he asked more of the Order than he ever has before. To go back in time, hunt down the Horcruxes, and defeat Voldemort before the second war ever happens. To prevent the deaths of hundreds, if not thousands. To change the course of history.

Most agree, but there are dangers none of them could have foreseen. There is no guarantee they will be able to return to their own time--or survive long enough to try. Darkness permeates every aspect of the wizarding world, and no one outside of the Order can discover who they are. But most importantly, the combined Order must work together and hunt down the Horcruxes before it's too late.

History is changing right before their eyes. But the war isn't over yet--and things are only getting started.

Premise

Looking for a Harry Potter game that's nothing like the rest? How about one you can play original characters in? Don't want to worry about Brit-speak? Then join Salem Academy, the best school for witches and wizards in America! We're in the midst of a brand new school year, so now's your chance to get in on the action.

But what about the attack on the headmaster? Who was behind it, how did they get on campus, and what if it happens again? Wizards live right in the muggle community, under their very noses, a secret that has been kept for centuries. But it looks like that secret's about to come to light.

Wanted Characters

Tired of lack of diversity in games? Looking to play a minority? We welcome them with open arms! We're in dire need of students with parents or siblings who work for the Bureau. Wardwell and Proctor students, Osborn and Wardwell girls and roomates for existing characters. Siblings, cousins, plus-sized, or scene students are all wanted. Cheerleaders as well as Quodpot players need to fill the squads and teams. Got a favorite high school stereotype? Play them at Salem!

What if Voldemort was Headmaster of Hogwarts?

What if, instead of turning away eighteen year old Tom Riddle, Headmaster Dippet allowed the boy to assist his favourite professor with his classes? What if that landmark decision started a chain of events that would lead to Riddle becoming Headmaster himself eleven years later, thus changing the face of the Wizarding world as we know it? While the political environment outside the school would remain relatively the same, the one inside would never be the same. Muggleborns now forced to prove their magical abilities even before they step foot past the doors of the castle and never allowed positions of authority and influence, they are the dregs of the school, punished and ridiculed for what they cannot help. Purebloods have the run of the place and allowed to do whatever they want. The teachers are afraid to cross their Headmaster, and the school governors, one of which is Albus Dumbledore, have little power when it comes to Riddle's demands.

Not all are willing to let him have his way with the school and its students though. The Ministry is split in its support and the Wizengamot's hands are tied. Meanwhile Riddle has been gathering support from Purebloods and former students to form an army of staff for the school and legislators within the Ministry to push his ideals. But there is one who opposes him, one who has been building his own army of staff and Ministry people: Albus Dumbledore.

The year is 1977, and the war is just beginning.

The year is 2005, and seven years since that night have passed. Order members that were captured have all been sentenced to Azkaban sentences for life, others were able to escape and go on the run; those, who were unable to do either, lay six feet under the earth under a marker proclaiming them dead.

Students have been sorted into two categories, those that are pure or were half and are lucky enough to have a stronger pure linage and those who are muggle born or are unfortunately half with a stronger muggle born linage. Those who were favored as pure were allowed back to finish their education and given higher statuses once they left in society. Those that were not were registered, tagged and have no status and some unfortunates are even slaves to the pure or imprisoned themselves.

The world has become a dark and dangerous place, where those who were once your friend have now become your greatest enemy.

A cry has slowly surfaced from the outside of society for justice and for freedom from the pureblood society. And slowly, the Wizard Underground has begun to answer them. In secret the Order is building up, they are gathering supporters even among former followers of Voldemort who have fallen from favor. Their goal is simple, retake the wizarding world before it’s destroyed forever.

With Harry Potter presumed dead and trust a dangerous word to utter, there is only one hope. The W.U. Will they succeed or will they like so many others perish under the weight of Voldemort’s reign.
