Imagine a place where Blackbeard the Pirate and King Henry the VIII have weekly games of poker, where the fates and furies walk among the everyday citizen, where wizards are gods and no one is what they seem, even your best friend.

Welcome to the Fortunate Isles. Long before wizards, emperors, kings, and warriors walked the earth the gods and the fates did. But like all species the gods died out and were replaced or forgotten in favour of new trends and ideals, but the fates are forever. The fates have stood by patiently and watched humans evolve through the centuries, looking for the perfect species for their experiment and in their search they came across wizards. Human but not quite human at the same time; with the abilities to do pretty much anything with their minds the Fates have decided that they will be perfect for the Fortunate Isles, their private get away where gods, and furies, Valkyries and pirates, kings and emperors alike walk once more, their personalities transplanted into the bodies of wizards. Upon death witches and wizards will enter the Fortunate Isles where nothing will ever be the same for them again.

With all of their memories from life still in tact the witches and wizards of past must now figure out how to live with new personalities and accept the fact that not everyone can be a god and everything you once knew, is no longer the same.

fairvale, swansea, wales.

Welcome to Fairvale, newly instated Wizarding town. It was built in 2003 and finished in 2004 under the first term of new Minister for Magic, Kingsley Shacklebolt. After the conclusion of the Second War the UK was left in shambles, it's government thrown askew and with nobody to lead, the people happily elected him to be their guide. Kingsley has done a great job since then.

He rebuilt Wizarding London, sent out a wide sweep of Hitwizards and Aurors alike (many of them students of the DA as volunteers) to catch the remaining Death Eaters, imprisoning many, giving fair trials, and then rewarding said Death Eaters with the Kiss, or a life time imprisonment. (Lucius Malfoy was however, pardoned thanks to the leniency of Harry Potter.) Not so happy for them, but the UK rejoiced.

Minister Shacklebolt's final moment to give the Wizarding World back it's hope, to increase the brotherly love and integration of Pureblood and Muggleborn witches and wizards alike, he set out to build a utopia, and achieved it. Thus, Fairvale was born. Each important building is a monument to a soul who was lost in the war, and it was centered around the most overlooked of them all, as the town stretches out from Creevey Park, named for Colin Creevey, the brave boy who got out of Azkaban as he'd been sent there for the crime of being a Muggleborn so long ago, and died in the woods attempting to get to the battle, cruelly attacked from behind. This place is where the happiness lies. It is up to everyone else to find it.

But things are not as the seem. Fairvale was built upon land that was enchanted by the world's greatest wizard, Merlin. Without the knowledge of the ministry, the town was constructed upon the age old magic and the heroes of the Battle of Hogwarts and others of the second war were buried there. This magic allowed those that were missed so dearly by their friends and families to rise from the grave. In this city, bent on the peace of humanity there are many problems, such as old rivals living together in close range. By Merlin's magic, the town is completely controlled and depends on the feelings and actions of the people. The more animosity, the more negativity, the town grows worse in condition and natural disasters spring forth at random. And yet, the more love and affection shown between countrymen the better the days in their city, creating long, bright, warm days in the middle of bitter winters. Welcome to Fairvale, because here, we take brotherly love very seriously.

Tired of those games that are purely meant for shipping purposes and barely focus on the events of the first war? We are, and that is exactly why we have created Waddiwasi.

Tidbits of information is all we have been given, tiny nuances to sustain us, but what about the fine details? What really happened during the First War when You-Know-Who was at his peak and the Wizarding World was barely staying above water? The individual stories of those during that time and the conflicts they had were never written, but they certainly existed. Students just out of Hogwarts viewed the world with endless possibilities; some acquired jobs, found a place to live, settled down and had a family, while others made their parents proud, took the Dark Mark, and joined an organisation which promised to restore the wizarding world to its former glory.

So join us and let's write their history, a complete history, of the events that happened that affected the fate of the wizarding world forever.

Wanted: Edgar Bones, Frank Longbottom, Barty Crouch Jr., Marlene McKinnon, Voldemort and Dumbledore, Benjy Fenwick, Ted Tonks, Amycus Carrow, Bertha Jorkins, Hestia and Gwenog Jones, Molly and Arthur Weasley, and more!

[info]hp_rpg_ads
GAME STARTED 2/08/09
Game Premise
The year is 2003. It's been nearly five years since the fall of Voldemort, and things in the Wizarding World have both changed and remained the same. Hogwarts and the Ministry of Magic have been rebuilt to their original glories, and under the new Minister of Magic Kingsley Shacklebolt's watchful eye, Diagon Alley has been completely restored to the splendor of old. Once again, Diagon Alley is the the center of the British Wizarding Community. With new shops and restaurants are opening all the time, as well as an increase in available residential space and the surrounding street ways, Diagon Alley is definitely the place to be.

Charing Cross is a game that centers on the everyday lives of Witches and Wizards as they navigate through this world. Focus will be on relationships and characterization, with the occasional game-wide plot thrown in for fun. The game will be adult in nature, so you must be over 18 to apply.
The Players
Charing Cross is looking for active, social players interested in character development. Players are expected to offer up their own plots and see them through. Plots that affect the whole game are welcome! There will be a monthly plot post where players can discuss ideas and how they'd work.

After having dealt with not only death and despair from the Second Wizarding War, The Daily Prophet also faced a period where it was uncertain as to whether or not there would be a future for the paper. Realizing that the paper needed to be cleared of its bad reputation from the war, Editor-in-Chief Barnabas Cuffe 'let go' of several people that he believed did not live up to his expectations. These spots were quickly filled with newer faces though they didn't have quite the same experience level as Cuffe would have liked.

Cuffe also instated an internship program for those reporters who weren't quite sure on what they wanted to specialize in and thus, would have an opportunity to do so. Slowly but surely, The Daily Prophet regained its once honorable reputation and is currently the highest-grossing newspaper of the Wizarding World.

[info]thedprpg via [info]thedpmods focuses on the lives of those reporters, photographers and workers of The Daily Prophet.

It is Spring 2000, and across Wizarding Britain, things are not well.

For the last six months, a rash of attacks have occurred across the country. First came the bombing of the main lobby of the Ministry of Magic. Then another bomb tore through a war orphanage in Hogsmeade. A few weeks later, Gringots and most of Diagon Alley was rocked with large bombs that all but crippled the economy The Ministry has little to go on, except one thing : None of the bombs were magic. They were all made using muggle means.

Public outcry and paranoia has reached a fervent peak. With the death toll rising, the Wizgamot has removed Kingsley Shacklebolt from office and has opened up a call for elections. Aurors have begun rounding up and questioning muggleborns who have been critical of the Ministry. After all, who would believe former Death Eaters would use muggle bombs?

Meanwhile, during this crisis, Pure Blood society has flourished. The war has only entrenched them further into their beliefs and practices. Young pure blood women, once they are debuted on the social scene, are not allowed to date, but instead are courted by prospective husbands. A witch's family decides whom may court her, and often these arrangements are put into place years in advance. However, due to the death tolls and loss of fortune of some families, new blood is being sought to keep these family names alive.

Come join us at a critical crossroads in the future of Wizarding London. Who will win the war? It all depends on where they fight the battles.

Aftermath Redux is a canon compliant, post DH (minus the epilogue!) game that is full of fun and friendly folks. 18+ please, due to mature content.

Applications start March 1, Game starts March 15! Lots of open characters!
