Sign-ups close tonight!

Sign-ups end around 7 p.m. EST tonight (Thursday), although you are welcome to sneak in up until I post a "sign-ups are closed" post at the end of the sign-up post.

First, I wanted to address the many who asked to join the community: The very first exchange here was self-posting, which is why there are some community members. However, there haven't been, nor will there be any locked posts, so you won't miss out by just watching the community. I'm going to go turn down all the requests now. Please don't be offended! ^_^

Answer to a common question: I do word-count your offering in MSWord. Because it is inaccurate at times, I tend to accept a few words more or less. However, if it feels like you've gone way over or under, I will send it back to you for edits.

Volunteer Opportunities:
1. I try to read all the entries to make sure no one accidentally receives squicks, but I might need some help with that this year. If you're interested in reading all the entries and double-checking them against the sign-ups, let me know and I'll create a G-Mail account for submissions that we can share. It would help if I knew you or if you participated here often in the past.

2. Tagging - Last year, the very lovely [info]andiais tagged for us, but I don't see her signed-up this year. If anyone wishes to tag LJ (and IJ would be appreciated as well), please reply here!

Now that we're near the assignment phase, please note the following:

Read the assignment e-mail carefully. I include formatting information that is vital for you to use with almost 50 gifts needing to be posted in one day. Also, you are asked to reply to confirm.

Read your giftee's sign-up post carefully. You don't want to mix someone's squicks up with her or his requests.

Don't get bogged down - You only have a week to write and most of the sign-ups offer notes on how flexible the person is about her or his gift. Take your giftee at his/her word and don't sweat it if you can't find inspiration in her/his pairings or prompts. Just don't write the squicks. ~_^

Finally, I sort of did this last year and will continue this year: First drabble in that is accepted will receive the choice of having either the submitted drabble posted first or her/his gift posted first. We'll talk over email if this is you!
