Malachi hadn't seen Astoria for some time. She used to frequent the gallery, but with all the things going on with her and in his life, she seemed to come by less frequently or maybe just not when he was there. Since he was no longer the curator at the gallery, he was sure that he was missing out on some of her visits there as a chance to talk. He still did the classes after the gallery closed, but she had never participated in them. They had gotten in touch recently and since Star was safely home from the hospital and thriving, the two friends decided to meet for cafe or something tonight.
Sitting in the cafe, he waited for Astoria to arrive. He knew he'd bore her with trying to show her pictures of Star, but he hoped she'd have the respect for him to tell him when it was too much or when to shut up when he tried to talk about them. Astoria had yet to find anyone in her life to share it with, and he knew back when he was happy and single, he hadn't been too thrilled with hearing stories of a friend's new family even if it was polite to see there and listen anyway.
He couldn't stay long, which he felt bad about, but maybe this could create future visits between them. He didn't want to loose touch simply because he had a family or was no longer at the gallery as the curator. Strangely, he was interested to see her reaction to him suddenly up and joining the Auror training program. With a cup of coffee in front of him, he pulled out a sketch pad and began to draw on it to occupy himself.
