"That's probably the best part of all," she admitted sheepishly. "It has been so far. I've no complaints." Then again, Astoria thought anything was far better than being stuck at home or worse, with her mother. Not that Astoria didn't love her, but she wanted a break from the 'perfect daughter' act. "Shoes aren't toys. They're much more than that." She was pretty sure she took shoes and clothes entirely too seriously but she didn't care. It was fun and dressing well was important to her. It was shallow of her but she never pretended to be otherwise. "Really? Why? I mean, it's none of my business, of course, but I thought art was your… thing." Her gaze traveled to the closed sketchbook laying on the table and then back to him. It was obvious Malachi still cared about his art. What made him change his mind about his career path?
"You two are sickeningly adorable, you know," Astoria teased. She hadn't really seen him and Lavender together aside from the wedding but from what Malachi told her that is what it seemed like. A nice, happy family. To her it was just further proof that such things existed, even if only as an exception to the rule. "I guess all siblings are different, right? You have the rest of your life to find out what Truth and Star will be like." It was something he could look forward to even though she was sure they're drive him insane more often than not. Astoria laughed. "Or you can skip the early death. I think that's a better plan."
