Malachi grinned when she returned the joking manner. It was nice that she wasn't wound so tight she didn't see the joke in what he said. "Macaroons are better than bon bons," he said with a fake, sage nod. "Well, those are all worthy activities. I particularly like the idea of spending time in London. It's my favorite city. And as long as you buy things, then shopping can be fulfilling sort of. Any interesting purchases or new brewing techniques?" He wasn't sure he could the things she said all day every d ay. He was sure was leaving out things - who didn't? - but there was still something that seemed boring. He liked to be out, to be around people, to be immersed in his art."
"Thanks. A friend of Lavender insists on calling her Alex. Lavender's not thrilled with that, but hey, as long as she doesn't get confused when she's older, it's not the worst thing that could happen," he said with a smile. He laughed. "I'm far too healthy to have a heart attack now. Though in fifteen years when Truth is of age and Star is telling us she wants to date... Or worse, she started dating without our consent while at Hogwarts or something... Then I might have a heart attack. And Lavender and I want more kids so I'd have them to worry over too. This whole actually having a family, children, and people to worry about other than myself just might be the death of me. It was never my plan anyway, I never got to prepare myself." He smiled with amusement when she asked about Truth. "I'm not sure he gets it really. I mean, he's so little. He keeps saying she's too little to play with. That's all he's worried about." He laughed. "She'll be old enough to help him into trouble sooner than I can blink. But he seems not to mind having her around if that means anything. He also doesn't mind having me around so... maybe he's just an exceptional kid as I think he is."
