Malachi folded his hands on the sketchbook when she answered him and smiled. Sometimes he wondered if he was a horrible friend to begin with. He often lost touch with those people in this life while he kept those very close. Most of the time it had nothing to do with how important they were or were not to him. There was something about that always seemed to be in motion, including those he gravitated to in his life.
"The life of a proper lady? What would that be? Actually, I'm scared to ask that," he said, teasingly. He could tell by the roll of her eyes that she might be liking said life as much as some people would. When she mentioned his family, he reached into his pocket without hesitation and pulled out his wallet which contained pictures of Star, Truth, and Lavender. He held them out to Astoria, the picture of Star closest. "My family is amazing. I should have asked first, but do you want to see pictures?" he asked with a laugh.
