Down side: This place definitely isn't Paris.

Up side: This place definitely doesn't have the weather of Paris.

And apparently I'm the handyman here? So if you need something built or fixed, I'm seemingly your guy. Also, therapist. I'm apparently the therapist. How does that make you feel?

Joey and Caitlin

Would either of you be interested in teaching me some basic first aid? I have no plans to switch jobs or anything, but with our medical team a bit understaffed, should something happen, I'd like to be able to help out as back up.

First, I want to thank you for the welcome, Pepper. I'm sure this place is a lot less...well, horrifying when you have some idea what's going on.

Not that I don't think it's a load of klunk, but it's hardly anyone's fault.

Let me know how I can help. I'm doing farming but if I can do anything else to help make this buggering place any better, just say the word.

You know, I'm grateful and all...I am. But twenty-four hours is a long time to stay put after the night (or day, I guess now) I've had. To the fast man in the red, if you're here...thank you.

CAROLINE.
I won't pretend to understand how that worked, what you did. I'm sure that it couldn't have been an easy decision for you, to give up your privacy like that for a stranger. I won't forget it.

MEDICAL STAFF.
You've all been really lovely so far, thank you. I'll be out of your hair as soon as I'm allowed, I promise.

This is a public announcement for everybody who resides in the camp, please read this carefully and check in so I know that you're aware of what's going on.

I've run a blood test of the unfriendlies, the same type that got into the camp during the brownout. They are infected. The infection is contagious. I want to make a few points clear before we all panic.

- There were no pathogens found, which means that this infection isn't airborne. Which is great news.

- After doing some more tests, I've figured out that, although the virus exists in the bloodstream, it doesn't have the capability of surviving once it leaves the body. As soon as it hits oxygen it dies, which means that getting the blood of these things on you, although gross, isn't dangerous. You can't catch the virus like that.

- The virus can be transferred through saliva. More specifically, if the saliva of these things is injected or applied to an open wound immediately. The virus dies immediately in a saliva sample once it hits the air. However, a direct bite would be enough for the infection to survive and be transferred if skin is broken.

So if you haven't been bitten by these things, you're safe. If you have you need to reach out to Medical immediately, but I don't think that's the case because it seems to be a very fast moving virus. After infection it looks like it'll turn the person within 24 hours, if that.

Doctor Caitlin Snow is going to be working on a vaccine just in case someone gets bit, but now that we know what's going on we're obviously going to have to take extreme caution. Defense or anyone who's going out there is going to need to make sure all exposed limbs are covered in a thick material to avoid penetration in case a bite takes place. If anyone has any questions I'll try to answer them to my fullest capability, but I'm just a forensic scientist. Dr. Snow is going to be making an update soon about the vaccine and what she'll use, all serious medical questions and concerns should most likely go to her.

LATER EDIT; FILTER TO DEFENSE AND TECH.

The suits for Sara and Natasha are ready. For everyone in defense, whether you have a suit or not, you need to meet up with a guy named Cisco Ramon in tech. He knows how to make specialized suits and he knows how to make them work with your abilities, which is why I don't set myself on fire every time I break out into a run.

He can't make you anything if he doesn't have your measurements and now that we know this is going on, all of us are going to need protection. You can drop a comment here under this filter for him so he can see it, either a time that you can meet up with him or your measurements. We all need to make sure we're protected against this, try to make it a priority.

Like Barry said, I'm going to be working on creating a vaccination for the virus. As we just began to study the virus today, I can't say for sure how long this will take, but it will be one of my top priorities, next to the overall health of the camp residents.

That being said, one of the best chances I have to actually create a vaccination would be to find someone who is immune. So if you are willing to provide a blood sample, please let me know and I'd like to get a sample from you as soon as possible. Given that some people are much more than human in here, it's possible the key to a vaccination could be with one of you. Or maybe even someone without abilities. This isn't mandatory, of course. Volunteers only.

STEVE.
I've organized the run with Allen for tomorrow morning, we're going early. It's going to take us a while.

PEPPER.
I'm going on a run tomorrow to get the tech I need to finish these reactors, I can't put it off anymore. I'll be in the suit and I'm not going alone. I'll be home by nighttime, I promise.
