I know things haven't been easy lately. A lot of people are gone and the full moon is always rough. If you're having a hard time, please don't hesitate to ask for some help. So, I've a bit of news! This news is particularly relevant if you enjoy mermaids and mermaid lore.

As some of you may know from conversation (probably with me), we have a local mermaid coven. The mermaids here are a very peaceful group. They're largely pescatarian and pacifist, but they do have a long-term enemy in the form of the Sea People. Though the mermaids share the seas with us, they have been in what I've been calling (honestly a bit inaccurately, given the irony of the terminology) a 'turf war' for a really long time. The Sea People are far more aggressive and war-mongering as a species. I can give more information on them if you'd like.

Essentially, the council meeting I attended (alongside my two lovely invitees) amounted to the mermaids sharing their ongoing concerns and a desire for our help in their war. They're a little disgruntled that we haven't helped before now.

I told them we'd give them an answer at their next meeting, which isn't for a little while, but I wanted to put bug in your ear.

At the risk of sounding like I want to keep all of you here, we've had a massive portal event. Reports of several people disappearing. May continue, not sure.

All right, my promised three days mayhem-free have expired. What's there to do around here?

I am pleased to report that we have been successful in our venture to sterilize the creatures that have been a source of such frustration. Please bring any live tribbles to the Department laboratory and I give you my word that they will be cared for while they recover from the sterilization process. I assume some of you wish to keep them as pets, and I do not see why that would be impossible now that we have adjusted their rapid reproduction cycle.

I didn't think it was possible to be more in awe of Dr. Ziegler and my brother's abilities, and they both keep proving me wrong. And would someone please raise a drink to Shepard's tenacity? I think his stubbornness and optimism deserve a little credit, as well.


But I'm feeling good. Better than I think I have any right to be feeling. In losing the Corruption, my Warden abilities have-- Quieted? I feel more like I did before I was even Joined in the first place. It's odd, when I'd spent half of a lifetime adjusting - rather badly, I don't mind admitting - to a Warden life, and now I'm back to just being hated for my magic and nothing else. Thank you, everyone.

The glamour thing works. I kept saying I'd be an attractive human and I really like not being wrong. The mirrors take some getting used to.

Here's my running list so far of why this place is better than the Earth I'm used to:

• Smoothies. I've got to admit, Tali's onto something here.
• Walls. Hear me out, the buildings aren't gutted by a war with the Reapers. Big plus.
• Peanut Butter. I thought I liked it on standard Turian digestion, because it didn't make me sick. Now, though? .. Are peanut butter smoothies a thing? They need to be a thing.
• Bacon. I would've happily eaten too much. Still want to. Is it worth it?
• Nothing's tried to kill me yet. This may change, as I've been told.

More to come as I settle in. First, I need to get a job. I understand there's a detective agency in town. Who do I talk to?

Whatever happened with the Architect and the Darkspawn had a negative effect on my Warden abilities, as it turns out. Things have been-- accelerated, or my own Warden-built immunities to the corruption are wearing off and my body is rushing it's way to a Calling. It's not here yet, which is good, as Dr. Ziegler thinks she's found a way to fix it. For good.

I've seen how she treated Kaidan, and I have faith in her abilities. But I'm tired and cranky and ready for this to be put past me, so forgive me in advance if I snap at you. I'm sure all will be fine, it's simply frustrating at this point in time. The Maker is sure to have a plan, and I assume he owes me one or three at this point.

There was a lot more fanfare the last time I visited Earth. Well, that and the whole mechanical apocalypse thing, but I try not to judge a planet based on the enemies it makes.

But jokes aside, and the soap is lovely but not great for my skin, I was told Shepard was here and that's something I have to see with my own eyes. I won't discount the idea, because he's done it before, but, you know. Validation is important.

Hello, everyone. I have good news. This 'darkspawn taint' -- I dislike that term, I will be calling it wardenitis from here out. Wardenitis behaves exactly like a biological agent. Invasive, stubborn to treatment-- but ultimately treatable. I've attempted several different approaches, but I found my real success when I infused nanites with very trace amounts of this lyrium product.

As such, I can confirm that I have successfully cleansed both samples I had remaining. However, I used up what little amount of lyrium I had available for testing. I thought about it over dinner with Faree the course of last night and I believe I've found the solution.

But yes, I want to test it first. Sir Hawke, I believe we can combine your raw magic with my nanites, infusing them with the same energy that the lyrium produces. I'll need your help because, Bethany, we'll have to put you in a near-comatose state so that your bloodflow is not extremely active- much as it would be if you were awake, moving around, or even just excited.

I'd also like to include Dr. Tam to help me monitor anesthesiology and provide an extra set of skilled hands.

The mayor's been assured that the threat's contained. Skepticism is still high, but you try covering up an entire fucking army. Whatever. Those that needed to be memory-blasted have been, and those that can be leaned on are now at an angle.
