Bethany, I've been running a few tests on these samples from these darkspawn that you brought over, and a few more on the blood samples from you that I have. There's an interaction I can't quite explain.

Would you mind coming by for some more tests? I'd like to check a few more things, but it's mostly procedural. Nothing to be concerned about at present.

Despite the enormous amount of pressure that's been on the community as a whole, I wanted to issue a special thanks for everyone's patience in light of the recent attack. Community leaders, I've compiled an algorithm to predict compromised architecture and weakened ground based on the visible damage and typical Darkspawn circumference of their tunneling and sent it to you. I estimate it to be 68% accurate with a margin of error based on relative size of the Darkspawn doing the tunneling as well as any moments where one Darkspawn tunneled into another Darkspawn's tunnel and they... shared space? Do they do that? Anyway.

I hope it helps you determine the extent of the damage and prioritize your teams and resources, and if you have need of anything else, let me know. I mostly spent the battle cowering in a corner, so, I'm pretty fresh at the moment.

For anyone who's been stuck talking to him, Cas still isn't back to his old self and seems to think that blowing Fairharbor off the face of the earth will make God happy. Convincing him that's bullshit has gotten me exactly nowhere, so I trapped him in a ring of holy fire in the basement. He probably still has his phone on him, so if he tries to talk any of you into getting him out of there, don't fucking do it. Whatever jumped him back in time also powered him back up, and with all of his mojo on he could smite the town without breaking a sweat, so just... leave him alone.

So obviously, we've got a problem here. A number of drif people have been reverted to a younger version of themselves, with no memory of this place or most (if not all) of the people in it. If you feel suddenly deposited in a weird world surrounded by strangers, or if someone you care about's been affected, please don't panic. If you need help, if you're injured or just trying to figure out how to eat and where to sleep, please let us help you. We're doing our best to sort out why this happened and how, but it's gonna take time.

But seriously, please don't do the gung ho hope-for-the-best thing with Darkspawn, that gets ugly fast and I think Bethany might actually like you. You should try not to die until we've all had at least one embarrassing night of drinking first.

In Thedas, we have what are called "Darkspawn", they're monster-like humanoids who are tainted. They live underground, except when they're wreaking havoc, and can be exceptionally dangerous. They travel in packs, and they also spread said-taint. We have no cure for it here - I can't perform a Joining, which is somehow still considered a cure the only known cure even in my world and it's not even effective in most cases. While it's entirely possible someone here may be able to create one, the corruption spreads quickly. You'll start feeling weak, and hear a call to the gods as if they're escorting you on your path to death. Overall, it isn't pleasant and I don't recommend it, so avoid swapping bodily fluids with them.

I'm telling you all this, because not only is it good information to have, but because I was one of those that survived what I called the Joining above after being corrupted, and have a unique ability to sense them. My job back home was to fight the Darkspawn and now I have a connection to them. It's been quiet since I arrived - until now.

We've been searching caves, underground areas, cellars, to no avail, but I know they're the feeling is still there for me. And it hasn't been wrong yet.

Please, be on your guard. Don't travel alone, especially at night, keep in contact with people and only go underground if you're actually prepared and searching for them. If you happen to spot yelling, ugly creatures, do tell someone. And then feel free to kill them. They can thankfully die by most means, and they literally only live to kill - they will not hesitate to attack if they spot you. Be safe and smart.

And with all hope, there isn't an Archdemon leading them, as I've no one to draw straws with. I had a nightmare last night, and there was the roar of a dragon involved, but nothing that pointed towards it being a prophetic dream instead of just a normal one.
