After a few days of answering questions as people thought of them and organizing a day and time that would be best for everyone, it was finally time for the Gate to be summoned.

The Hughes' sent their daughter to one of her friends for a sleepover to keep her out from underfoot and Roy and Riza arrived within the appointed time for their part of things.

Meanwhile, in the Elric's apartment, Winry was also present and was where the initial summoning was going to occur.

"You ready to do this, Brother?" Al asked quietly, petting the Gate Cat.

Ed gave his brother a weak smile and shook his head. "Not really, but I dunno when I'd ever really be ready for this."

"All right." Now Al looked at Winry. "How about you?"

"I'm fine. A little nervous, but nothing more than that," she assured him.

"All right." Al settled his gaze on the cat. "Could you please call them for us?"

After Izumi was done visiting with the Collective, Ed takes her over to the office, loaning her one of Sarah's coats for the trip.

"If he's not the one in there, it'll likely be Riza," he tells her. "He got married to the Riza Hawkeye from his world."

"I see. And all this is his doing?" Izumi says, taking another look around. Now that she has a coat on to keep her warm, she's taking more time to look at her surroundings.

Ed nods. "Yeah. Other people maintain the grounds, but he's the one that set this place up. Next place on the list is a gym so we'll have a place to train when the weather is too nasty out for it to be a good idea to do so outside."

By now, they've reached the office and Ed knocks on the door and opens it; poking his head in to smile brightly at his alternate. "You'll never guess who Sarah brought home."

Some time in the morning, after assuring his brother that he wouldn't be gone long, Al headed out onto the grounds to look for the office.

It doesn't take him long and he soon knocks on the door and then waits patiently for a response. The landlord shouldn't have any trouble recognizing the sound of the knock.

Alfons is taking advantage of the reasonably decent temperature out to read outside, seated on a garden bench. The book he's reading is something he's already read a hundred times before so he'll hardly complain if someone decides to talk to him.

Having followed the instructions on where to go by Simon, Alfons and Ed arrive on the grounds. Alfons scans the grounds quickly, looking for the office. Once he's sighted it, he beelines towards it.

When he reaches the door, a coughing fits comes on him and he knocks when it's over. The landlord should recognize that brand of cough.
