Who: Kozue and ~~the adoring public~~ You

Where: Bar Kidnap

Why: Because of presents and alcohol.

True to her word, Kozue had established herself in the VIP area of Bar Kidnap—still pretending to be blissfully unaware of the frightening or ominous implications of the name. She hadn't gone to much (or any) trouble to prove that this was a birthday party, however; she was dressed up, in an outfit a bit scantier than her normal going-out attire. She was sporting a green, sequin-covered minidress and a pair of heels of a ridiculous height. And her hair was even more carefully arranged than normal.

The VIP area was situated on a balcony, overlooking the rest of the club; from there, Kozue was engaged in chatting amicably with one of the older girls from the tennis club, but her attention kept drifting to the entrance downstairs. More people should show up. There weren't nearly enough for the party to be genuinely successful. So, every few moments, she cast a nervous glance downstairs.

The club itself wasn't all that packed; it was a weeknight, after all, and if any of the actual grown-up patrons noticed the steady stream of highschoolers, they weren't making a fuss. And the bouncers had either been bribed very efficiently, or were under instructions not to care, either.

	"Thanks!" Kozue said, looking over at the giant, her-sized box, and grinning a little. She could only imagine the multitude of dresses inside—and was hoping they'd fit or, at least, be too small. Kanaye laughed. "Shots? Please. I just drink for it straight of the bottle. Either way..." he looked at the bartender. "I'll take a scotch on the rocks."

While he waited for his drink to arrive, he opened the gift. It revealed a box, or so it seemed. It was actually a portable closet, as was obvious when he opened it. Inside were ten dresses neatly held up. Or, to be more accurate, nine dresses and a kimono. The dresses were every color of the rainbow, and ranged from something a catholic schoolgirl would wear to something a porn star pretending to be a catholic schoolgirl would wear. The kimono was purple and dark pink, and everything was made of good quality. "Once again, if they don't fit, tell me, alright? I've got a tailor on the payroll, so..."

"Hey, make that two, I'll try it myself." She turned, and watched as Kanaye opened and displayed the clothing; her smile grew and grew. "That's beautiful—it's all beautiful! A tailor on the payroll? That sounds like so much fun! I'd have a tailor, but…" She shrugged. "The kimono, that's great, I don't have any in that color combination—Grandmother is really picky, you know?" She took a few steps over, and started looking through them one by one, making quiet sounds of appreciation over details here and there.

Kanaye smiled. "Glad to see you like it. And yeah, she's from France. My mother is all for foreign things. I'm learning French from her. It's quite interesting, really. It's similar to English, so I'm learning quickly."

Deciding that Kozue didn't want to listen to him, he quickly turned the conversation back on her. "I could see why. Are all your kimonos white or something?"

	She shook her head. "Light colors, big and youthful prints. They're mostly very old, since they're inherited." She nodded, and then looked up as the bartender came back with the two drinks. "French? Wow, that sounds like it'd be tough. But I really hate languages anyway." She stepped over to the bar and picked up her glass. "Good health." (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Kanaye shrugged. "Sounds decent enough." he remarked before taking the glass. "It's not that hard. I guess I've got a knack for languages or something." Kanaye smirked as he held his glass up high. "Good health!" he shouted as he downed it in one gulp. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	She just nodded, and took a swig. One decidedly less all-the-glass than Kanaye's, but a respectable swig none the less. She shook her head; "Oh, this stuff is burny. What is it again?" (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Kanaye laughed. "Scotch. It's a kind of whiskey. It's good, yaknow. Then again, I think every alcohol is good. It's just an acquired taste. Another one, please!" he told the bartender, who was staring at him. The bartender quickly moved to get his order. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Kozue laughed. "Oh, it's whiskey? It kind of tasted like…" She shook her head. "Nah, it tasted like burning." She turned, and looked down the bar to where Kiriko and the cloud of cigar smoke otherwise known as Reizo were sitting, and wondered, briefly, what they were talking about.

Then her attention went back to Kanaye; "You actually think it tastes good? By itself?"

Kanaye laughed. "Burning is a good taste!" he shouted, getting another drink and downing it as fast as the first one. He smiled at the bartender, who shrugged and got another one. Jingling the empty glass, looking at the ice with an interested look on his face, he smirked. "Alcohol is alcohol, Kozue-san. And if I have to drink this to prevent me from breaking things, I'm fine with it."

"Well, yeah, that's why you serve it in things that don't taste like alcohol!" She took another swig of her own scotch, having worked up the courage for it as they talked. She would normally have felt a bit ashamed to be so outpaced, but Kanaye seemed to be really, really into drinking. Like, really.

"And dr--" She tipped her head, curious. Breaking things? "It's been kind of a crazy night, I guess?"

Kanaye blinks. "But that ruins the flavor!" he said, drinking from the third glass. He didn't drink all of it, this time. Only about half of it.

He nodded. "Yeah. I broke up with Maeko and then got back together with her a couple of minutes later, Misaki poured her drink on me, I got into an argument with her, I tried to make out with Maeko and got shot down, and Tom is a douche. Rather crazy, yes."
