What: Festivities
Where: Bar Kidnap

Why: Because of presents and alcohol.

True to her word, Kozue had established herself in the VIP area of Bar Kidnap—still pretending to be blissfully unaware of the frightening or ominous implications of the name. She hadn't gone to much (or any) trouble to prove that this was a birthday party, however; she was dressed up, in an outfit a bit scantier than her normal going-out attire. She was sporting a green, sequin-covered minidress and a pair of heels of a ridiculous height. And her hair was even more carefully arranged than normal.

The VIP area was situated on a balcony, overlooking the rest of the club; from there, Kozue was engaged in chatting amicably with one of the older girls from the tennis club, but her attention kept drifting to the entrance downstairs. More people should show up. There weren't nearly enough for the party to be genuinely successful. So, every few moments, she cast a nervous glance downstairs.

The club itself wasn't all that packed; it was a weeknight, after all, and if any of the actual grown-up patrons noticed the steady stream of highschoolers, they weren't making a fuss. And the bouncers had either been bribed very efficiently, or were under instructions not to care, either.

	Kanaye nodded slowly. "True. BUT!" he shouted, standing up. "That is a completely different situation! You see, I WAS DRUNK AT THE TIME!" Kanaye yelled almost as loud as he could, proving that he is still drunk. "And!" He sat down and started talking in a way that was more normal. "I didn't ask for permission! Kozue watched this with a few giggles—and another sip—and a few more giggles. "Yeah, yeah, well being drunk doesn't stop most people but." Another giggle. "Ask if you're not sure obviously. You could always try something romantic. Does Akuba-senpai seem like the type who believes all that stuff about your first time being with 'someone special' and all?" She even used one-handed finger quotes. "If she does, tell her how much she means to you, and how much…" A vague wave. "You know. Stuff like that. It cracks me up when people use that line, but she might like it."

Kanaye blinked and nodded. "True, but you have to admit, Kozue-san, Maeko-chan is very different from you." He declined to say in which ways she was different. "I shall try the romance option, she seems to like it when that happens."

He took another drink and leaned in. "Do you mind giving me some advice on actually doing it? I've got the basics down, I think, but..."

"Well, of course she's different from me—that's why I'm giving you advice like use romantic lines! Special first time and all that." She was halfway through another swig when she processed Kanaye's request for actual sex tips. And she barely kept from spitting her drink out in a laugh, or snorting it up her nose, or something else equally painful and embarrassing.

"A--I--really? Aren't guys supposed to ask each other? About stuff like that?"

	Kanaye shrugged. "Who the hell could I ask? I mean, the only ones that probably HAD sex are Keiichi and maybe Reizo. And like fuck if I'm asking either of them." He explained. She nodded. That was just fact, as far as Kozue was concerned. "It's like, you know, anything. You need practice to do it right. But if you really want tips?" Was her face reddening slightly? Kozue told herself it was just the alcohol. And the alcohol making her so chatty; normally, she'd never… Okay, she would, but probably not with a boy and probably not in the middle of a bar. "So use birth control, pay attention to what she likes, and under no circumstances should you ever, ever raise your arms and shout 'goal!'."

"Ever."

Kanaye nodded wisely. "Of course it is! I'm just trying to make it suck less."

He rubbed his imaginary beard. "I was planning to do that anyway." He said, before raising an eyebrow. "...Pardon my French, but Ce qui la baise?" After realizing that he did, in fact, say it in (horrible mispronounced) French, he clarified. "What the fuck? Did that seriously happen?"

"No, I refuse to pardon your French!" Kozue said, laughing, and smacking the bar with one open hand. "I have no idea what your French was, so you get no pardoning!" A smile, and then she paid attention to the translation.

"I am not saying anything bad about anyone who might happen to play on the soccer team with you and whether or not this happened to someone who was me or a girl I know or whatever. Or yeah."

The convoluted agreement-denial pleased her, and she took a swig of scotch to reward herself for such weaselly cleverness!

Kanaye looked shocked. "You must pardon my French! My French is a very naughty boy, you know. It needs to be pardoned or else it will go to jail, and I do not have the money for bail! I NEED YOU TO PARDON IT!"

Kanaye calmed down and nodded. "Oh. Of course not. So it definitly wasn't Katakura, right? I mean, the person who wasn't involved with you or a girl you know. Or yeah." Kanaye nodded and finished off his drink, asking the bartender for another.

Kanaye pouted. "Aww. My French is very sad. I think it wants you to punish it. Maybe. I don't know, he's very confusing."

Kanaye started counting on his fingers. "Ok, so one, be romantic. Two, be confident. Three, realize it's going to suck. Four, use protection. Five, don't shout goal. GOT IT!" Kanaye grabbed his new drink out of the bartender's hands and guzzled it. "I shall try it sometime! I shall tell you how it turns out!"

Kanaye, deciding this conversation was over, turned it towards another topic. "So, how was Misaki? She was rather annoying earlier."

"I expect a full report!" Kozue declared, realizing only belatedly that that just sounded weird, so she added, "Or, you know, a general summary would probably suffice! That, too!"

God, she was shouting as much as Shirou. Stupid liquor. She took a deep breath, another bracing sip, and then shook her head. "I don't know. She wasn't drinking and she kept insisting on announcing she was virgin drinks, which brings attention to such an unattractive concept, you know? I wish she could've had a better time at my party." She frowned.

"Ito-senpai is not exactly a sex machine." She shook her head--contemplated covering her ears in case the shouting got awkward or louder or both--and then looked back at Satou. "And she was pretty embarrassed at the topic when we talked about it so probably not. Tch tch." She even clicked her tongue. "How does someone get to be as popular as her without losing it already?"

Oh. Wait. She was talking to another person who'd neglected to 'lose it already'. "Um. No offense intended. You're popular and all too!"

Kanaye also shook his head. "By comparison, he is. I mean, I'm pretty sure he's the only male in our group to have sex. Besides Reizo. He doesn't count. And I'd think it's because she's nice and pure. Forbidden fruit and all that."

Kanaye twitched, but kept smiling. It was kind of a "I'm smiling because I have to, not because I want you" kind of smile. "Oh, no no no. It's all my fault. I could have gotten laid a lot of times before this if I wasn't so hung up about doing it with someone I actually like. All my fault. It's all my fault." Kanaye stared into his drink, mouthing the same words over and over.

"Oh, don't be gloomy," Kozue said, perhaps too quickly, "It's probably better that way. Nobody calls you a worthless slut!" She grinned a bit too widely, trying to backpedal in her muddled, drunk way, into not having offended him. At least. Was he offended? She hoped not. But.

"And. Uh." No, how was she going to go about this. "I mean, you're popular and you're good-looking and you're dating someone you do totally care about. Those're all awesome things, aren't they?"

Kanaye barked a laugh. "No, but they do call me a desperate loser and a chikan. What the fuck was that all about, anyway? Goddammit, this drink isn't nearly hard enough..." he mumbled, glaring at the bartender. "Your strongest stuff! And a lot of it!" Kanaye commanded. The bartender, who was kind of scared by his sudden mood swings, complied without a word.

Kanaye stared into space. "Yeah, and I have a crap load of money too. And yeah, I do care about Maeko-chan. But what do things like that really mean? Oh, I can out-buy you. I can win a beauty pagent. Big deal. I can't do anything important, the team is better off without me, everyone but you, Maeko, and Toru hate me..." His drink arrived. He put it to his mouth and drank.

She slumped a little. Why was making him feel better such an exercise in making herself feel bad, too? "And you've got other stuff going for you!"

Not that she knew what it was.

Her words were slurring slightly—although she didn't quite notice it, except as a vague sense that her hearing was odd in some way. The drinks were beginning to catch up to her, now. "Yeah, really, you do."

"Some sort of goddamn number cruncher for my dad's company. He expects me to take it over. Lord knows why," he snorted, "I'd run it into the ground within the first week, if that."

Kanaye shrugged. "If you want to not have a job and take after the kids, then go ahead, I won't stop you. Just don't feel pressured because that is what your grandmother wants. She doesn't matter at all."
