The gym is located in the basement of the training center building. Above it sit each district’s personal living quarters for the tributes’ stay in the Capitol. Training continues at 115 and ends around 430 for the day. They are then sent to spend time with mentors for strategy and discussion.

found out about shimmer. she worked as a mortishun back in 1. sewing up dead bodies and stuff. maybe she did their makeup, i don't know. anyway, might explain why she's a little off. if dead people were that good of company, the capitol wouldn't haul them off in a hovercraft, right?

also. do you think i should get in the pool, just for show? i could get in and splash around, act like i don't care to swim for real. i know one stroke well enough to get from point a to point b, provided they aren't far away from each other, but i might look like a sea cow missing a couple fins, i don't know. the pool doesn't have waves or current working against me, at least.

Training. The magical week where tributes from District 4 are surprised to discover that our natural knife skills make us good at gutting people and not just fish.

The weapons stations are fun, and you'll get to try out some fancy Capitol shit we don't get back home. It's good to get a feel for everything because you never know what you're going to get in the Arena, but let's be straight here, you're already as good in combat as you'll ever be. A week with a spear might mean something to a tribute from an outlying district, but it doesn't mean shit to Careers like you. What are we really doing in training?

Escorts and Stylists have some time to do a little last minute fretting before sending their tributes out in front of all of Panem. The districts go forward from One to Twelve.

In each district, Peacekeepers and camera crews are out in force. Male and Female tributes are roped off by age group and away from the rest of the district's population. Excitement and anticipation lace the air in Districts 1, 2, and 4 while dread and fear are felt almost everywhere else.

The mayor and all victors are seated on stage in the background. It's a big moment for the Escorts, who take center stage.
