Hey Annie, I think we're out of noodles.

Also, I think I may have travelled back in time. The fall lineup on the DVR is all wrong and I just saw a promo for "Arrow."

Yes. Your popularity to screen time ratio is probably the highest of all. Especially given that your total screen time was only 12 minutes and 44 seconds during the first Avengers film. Which is less than half that of the person with the second-least amount of screen time. Thor had 25:52, Bruce Banner had 28:03, Black Widow had 33:35, and Iron Man and Captain America both had roughly 37 minutes. You had more in later films.

Those are oddly specific numbers.

They're not oddly specific. They're accurate.

Did you go through and count for everyone?

No. I used a stop watch.

Why? What insight could you possibly gain from knowing something like that?

I would know how much screen time everyone had. Which I do.

I had thought Robert Downey Jr's contract specified that he'd have more, but I think Joss ultimately realized that it didn't make sense as an Iron Man-driven film, and Downey agreed. Good move. Really works better as an ensemble.

I see.

As they are an ensemble, that makes sense.

It comes in handy when i have to answer questions about how much screen time everyone has.

It does. Our show started out as an ensemble comedy with an obvious lead, but I think it really came together when they abandoned that idea and really focused on the ensemble.

Groups do benefit from proper group dynamics. Having someone stationed above everyone else rather severely throws things off.

Well, it can work in a five-man band, but it depends.

But not with four or six.

Makes sense, I guess. About the screen time, anyway. If you're making a movie about heroes, you don't want to spend too much time focusing on the bad guys.

No, they spent time on both sides, but you weren't part of the villain arc or the hero arc for the first half of the film. You factored in more in the second half of the film. But everyone loved you. Lots of kids at comic con dressed up as Hawkeye. And yours is a difficult costume to replicate.

Odd. They must have shown significantly less than what happened.

Some of it ended up in the deleted scenes.

And yet, unlikely all. These narratives do seem to have their limitations when multiple individuals are involved in different locations.

It's also only 2 horus and 22 minutes long, but the plot is spread out over the course of several days.

Exactly. Limitations.

I see you didn't bother to count anything up for the others. I'll be happy to inform the SHIELD agents that they weren't important enough to warrant consideration.

I was going to do Coulson, but then he died and it seemed like a downer.

Possibly. Stabbing seemed the more effective solution. Also, it upset Thor. So. Bonus.

Loki, stop it. No being flippant about murdering a someone. We've talked about this. Or will. Either way, stop it.

[Loki]
Mostly because, if you don't, my son is going to feel the need to defend you blindly. And then he's going to wind up dealing with a bunch of pissed off superheroes. And if he gets himself hurt doing that? I'm going to stab you in the throat.

So seriously. Stop it.

It isn't as though I feel like that now. Just at the time, he was an obstruction, not an individual. Not that he's much more of an individual now, in my view, but he asked that I not poke at him, so I am respecting those wishes.

[ Claire ]
I'd stop him if he tried. It wasn't a particularly bright moment for me. Even when I didn't care, it was more an embarrassment than anything else. Even stabbed in the chest, he was able to best me.
