Absolution: OOC

Okay, Alison persuaded me to do it, and I deliver. Absolutioneers, meet Henry Gordon Cresswell.

For those of you who were in May 02, Henry is the same as he ever was, only he's a Gryffindor now. For those who are only meeting him for the first time, here's a few facts:

* Son of Muggleborn Dirk Cresswell and Pureblood Claire Max, both Hufflepuffs. Dirk was Head of the Goblin Liaison Office at the Ministry and a former Slug Club member, was on the run alongside Dean, and was eventually killed by Snatchers. Claire came from a purist family, was disowned for marrying Dirk, but was eventually welcomed back by her brother when he became head of the family.
* Sixth year Gryffindor prefect. He's as clueless over being made prefect as he is over being sorted into Gryffindor - but still, he tries to get the job done and deal with Romilda.
* He's very sweet and shy, and very hardworking, and would have fit quite well in his parents' house. Still, he likes it at Gryffindor and gets along well with everybody there (or tries, anyway) even if he lacks the boisterousness of the average Gryff.
* Last year was a very difficult time for him, as he was worried sick about his dad's whereabouts and was torn between hiding from the Carrows and the IS (being the son of a known Muggleborn on the run is almost the same as having "hex here" tattooed on his forehead) and doing his duties as a prefect. His brother's attitude didn't help things.
* Speaking of his brother, he's Chase Cresswell, seventh year Ravenclaw. Chase has been angry at the world ever since Dirk disappeared, and got even worse when they got news that he had been killed. Henry, on the other hand, is trying to cope by trying to make his dad proud.
* Henry is bi, but he's still a bit uncertain about how he feels and what he likes. He hasn't told anyone about it, though.
* And, as a bit of trivia, I was rereading his app for May 02, and realized that I had put Logan Lerman as a second PB option for him. Small world.

Hi, y'all. It's Alison. Not to be outdone by Max, I went and held and applied a new character. In a day. To be fair, I've played her before. Those of you who were at May02 will recognise Jade. Here she is... *drumroll* Bernice Dunstan! 6th year Ravenclaw, former IS member and not really very repentant. Sort of repentant. Sometimes. But has quite severe cruciatus cravings.

In a nutshell, Bernice (you can call her Bern. Not Bernie - what is she, a bear?) used to be a quiet unassuming girl with a small circle of friends and a good solid academic record. Then last year she joined the IS to protect herself and developed a taste for torture. Now everyone hates her. She longs for last year, especially Alecto Carrow who she had quite a crush on.

Storyline-wise, she needs boys and girls to pine after, people who hate her and used to like her, people who didn't used to know who she was but now hate her, people who don't know her but she just hates them... you get the idea. For more info, her bio lives here.

Hey y'all!

This is Sean Ackerly. He's totally sweet, charming, and adorable. He's an ex-inquisitor who was able to keep his prefect badge due to the fact that he was a total traitor. That's right. If your character ever got on the wrong side of the IS, chance are that either Sean or his brother Stewart tried to subtly help you out.

Of course, he wasn't a perfect angel. After about four months in the IS, Stewart got busted giving food to the kids at the punishment table, and things got ugly. Sean is pretty sure there's something more he should have done, but he was pretty passive about the whole situation. It was ridiculously hard for him to watch his brother being punished, but he didn't know what to do that wouldn't make it worse, so he stood back and let it happen.

He did manage to redeem himself a bit in the battle, though. The minute it became clear something was going down, Sean ditched his IS badge and joined the good guys. He personally took out four death eaters before getting knocked out, which is probably what saved his career as a prefect.

Oh, also he was snogging Lucy all last year. Yeah. The eventually broke up because they were fighting all the time (interestingly, about her conflict avoidance), and her trying to make him stay back from the battle was the last straw. However, now that they're over, he can't get her out of his head. Damn.

Plot is totally welcome. Just let me know.

This is Quentin Asa Baddock. He is a super French, Carrow supporting, evil sociopath. That's pretty much him in a nut shell. He's a self serving dick who does whatever he wants to keep himself from boredom or harm. BUT, on the flipside, he's totally been deprived of physical contact ever since he tortured half of the school without even a hint of mercy. So he's completely starved for affection. He just wants someone to make out with. Srsly. Is that so much to ask.

Feel free to plot with him any way you like! Up, down, sideways... I don't care!

Hey guys! Since this is my first intro, I'm going to tell you a tiny bit about me, and then I'll move on to telling about Vic here.

Okay, so. I'm Max, and I'm twenty. I am super gay, but you'll get used to it. My hobbies include waving at babies, pretending to study, and travel blogging. But enough about me.

Victoria somehow became a really complicated character, and her history has enough twists and turns that I really can't explain her in a short post. So I'm just going to give you a simplified version.

Vicky is incredibly emotionally fragile, due mostly to the fact that she spent a year in Azkaban after the muggle born registration act went into effect. The thing is, she has no idea if she's muggle born, but she also has no proof that she's not. She was raised mostly by nuns, but she can't remember any of that, because she was obliviated after a terrible event happened in her childhood. But anyway, after she got back from Azkaban, she was offered the position of prefect, because it was originally meant to be hers in the first place. And now she's basically kicking the IS around like the garbage they are. Or that she assumes they are, because blanket statements are always correct. Right?

Any plot would be awesome, especially with IS members.

Hey guys! Patricia here with her sixth(!) and (I hope) final character, one Luna Lovegood.

What can I say about Luna that hasn't been said so many times before? She's a 7th year Ravenclaw, and she's a little... odd. Her dad is Xeno Lovegood, editor of The Quibbler, and she shares his believes about things everybody else dismisses as rubbish. Her mum, Caroline, was a Gryffindor - I've left her surname blank in case anyone wants to have their characters associated with the Lovegood family (it can be the embarrassing little family secret they hope will never come to light!). She's very close to the trio and to Ginny and Neville, and took over as co-leader of the DA with the latter two the previous year - that is, until she was kidnapped by Death Eaters around Christmas in order to force her dad to cooperate with Voldemort's regime. The trio has never revealed what Xeno almost did to keep her safe, though she's no fool and suspects there's something they're not telling her.

She spent a considerable amount of time as a prisoner at Malfoy Manor with Mr Ollivander (and later Dean and Griphook) until the trio and poor Dobby showed up. She and Dean spent the rest of the school year hidden in Shell Cottage, returning to Hogwarts to fight at the Battle. As a result, she requires some tutoring to catch up - with Muggle Studies being mandatory she's now taking as many NEWTs as Hermione, which is not for the faint of heart. Still, she's coping pretty well with the workload; as she believes that all of her other classes are vital for her chosen career as a naturalist, and that proper Muggle Studies is vital after the damage caused by the Carrows, she sees no reason to complain.

Alright! Hi guys, me again, pushing the character limit to its, well, limit. I've got me an asshole for your hating pleasure. He's a bad boy. This is Alexander Derrick, Slytherin 7th year, former IS member, and no, he's not sorry. Alex used to be a sensitive but pleasant boy, but puberty turned him into a dick. He's seriously moody, kind of aggressive, and pretty mean. Come be his friend! :-P You can read more about him and see his storylines here.

Hello! Yes, it's Patricia back again with yet another character - this time one Amrita Chopra.

Here's a few facts about her:

* 7th year Slytherin.
* Her brother is Bhuvan Chopra, 6th year Hufflepuff prefect.
* She was born in India, but her family moved to Nottingham when she was just a baby, and so she has practically no contact with her Indian heritage.
* Her dad is Bhaskar Chopra, AKA Bozo, Rita Skeeter's trusty photographer sidekick. He's also a Muggleborn, but thanks to Rita he was able to produce a forged family tree. Being born and raised in India also helped to disguise his true origins from Umbridge's team.
* Amrita joined the IS to help her family in their deceit, and to protect her brother. She's still convinced it was the right thing to do, and would have done it all over again if the situation was to repeat itself - and so, as a result, she'll react badly to anyone who gives her a hard time for her past actions. In her eyes they're all idiots who are not worthy of her time.
* She wants to be a journalist like her parents (her mother, also a former Slytherin, is a reporter for the WWN) and their good friend Rita, but doesn't approve of some of the former's methods. Oh, and she's the one who introduced Draco and Pansy to Rita as the people to talk to about what she felt was an unbiased perspective on Harry's role in the Triwizard Tournament - so if your kids are still angry about Hermione being hit by Bobotuber pus, you know who to blame.
* Oh, and she's a vegetarian and sings in the Choir.

Hello there! Why yes, tis me, Alison. And this is Dean. Those of you  who played with me at May 02 will already know him, and for the rest of you... Dean's a nice guy, he's pretty laidback, views much of the world through amused eyes, is fairly quiet, is artistic, is good with his hands, and is a good friend. Oh and, you know, brave, Gryffindor, blah blah, loyal to the DA. He is also a gentleman when it comes to ladies. In almost every respect, therefore, he is the opposite of my other boy here, Evan :-)

Dean is officially a muggle-born, although actually his birth father was a pureblood wizard who got killed by Voldemort for refusing to join the DE. Dean does not know that, though, and neither does anyone else, including you. Shhh. Anyway, as per canon, Dean spent last year on the run and is very glad to be back at Hogwarts because, cool as Luna is, she is not his bff Seamus.

Dean wants to be your friend, probably - if he doesn't I doubt you'd be the sort of person who would want to befriend him in the first place. He's not keen on the old IS members for obvious reasons and will give most of them a wide berth, but won't go out of his way to antagonise them because he's just not very aggressive, generally. He's quick to forgive if people are actually sorry, but not about to believe every "reformed" character he meets.

I've only got one storyline open for him (others filled canonically by Seamus, Ginny, and Chase) and that is for someone who wants to try and annoy him, essentially. I am, however, totally up for plot of all kinds! As ever, email/comment is the best way to reach me because I am rarely on aim but get emails and hence also comment notifications on my phone. Julie here with character #2 (FINALLY!): Allegra Flint.

Her Mum is Kate Winslet and her daddy is Colin Firth... She's the other 7th year prefect for Slytherin, she can be kind of bossy - she likes getting her own way, hates society parties - boring, she can be kind of moody sometimes... but she's actually pretty darn loyal to family and if you happen to be a close friend. Speaking of family, her older brother is (quite obviously) Marcus Flint, her Dad works in the Dept. Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures (alongside her maternal uncle), her Mum is the younger sister of Amos Diggory - making Marcus and Allegra cousins to Cedric (and his younger brother Eustace) - and her Mum's a housewife/philanthropist.

Allegra was actually pretty close to Cedric, and he was one of the few people who managed to not only put up with her but also get her to not be so bossy/moody/spoiled etc. And she's still just as close to Eustace and tries to keep an eye on him and all... and thanks to her cousins and that side of the family she kind of has a soft spot for Hufflepuffs. So people are probably surprised by that.

School-wise, Allegra isn't part of any of the clubs; her best class is CoMC (don't want to disappoint the family) - but still managed a couple E's and mostly A's on the rest of her owls and she's also continued on with Divination, because it seemed like an easy class... plus she did really well at it apparently.

As for the last year, despite being a part of the IS she didn't go around cursing anyone or doing any torturing, the worst she did was probably send you to the Trouble Table or try and give as easy a detention as possible - it wasn't like she wanted to get caught and end up in the same boat.

Oh, she also made sure Rachel Cooper got back to Hufflepuff safely this one time. Not that she knew her name until the hearings.

This year she's probably still very much the same Allegra she's always been, but perhaps a little subdued towards the beginning of the new school year. She's still pretty O_O about still being prefect, but she's not complaining.

Hi everyone! I'm Gina and I bring you Luna Lovegood! I know I was accepted into the game like a million years ago, but I actually had some family stuff come up and now I'm back here and ready to play. I didn't go on hiatus. My bad, I'm terrible.

ANYWAYS. THIS IS LUNA. Most of you all know her already. She's obviously a 7th year. 17 years old. She's in the DA. She's spacey, doesn't make sense most of the time, and people think she's weird. She has a lot more friends since the war and all of that but for the most part, she's just the same old Luna. BLAH BLAH. If you have questions just ask but her bio is here and you know, she's just Luna.

Hello there chaps. This is Melody, my new npc and your kids' new Transfiguration professor. They'll probably know her as Professor Pennyfeather, but she pulls a face at that and says you're welcome to just say professor. It's a bit of a mouthful otherwise. She's an outgoing, rather eccentric character who's a fan of plain speaking, and, well, speaking in general. She talks a lot. She sings too, frequently at inopportune moments. Hello all! Heather with character #3, Ginny Weasley, here!

There's not much I can say that we don't know or can infer from canon, of course, so I'll stick to the specifics of how I'd like to play her:

* She isn't dating Harry, and doesn't plan on running into his arms any time soon. Firstly because she's got other things on her mind - like Fred - and secondly because she doesn't want him to take her for granted. He'll have to work to get her!

* She's still really upset about Fred's death, though instead of becoming overtly angry - her anger and frustration is sort of seething and bubbling below the surface mostly - she's rather quiet and withdrawn. It'll take her a little while to get back entirely to the fun loving, boisterous sort that we all know and love.

* Quidditch is totally her main way of venting, right now, so watch out or you might get a Quaffle to the head! She isn't helping out at school because her mum's keeping her at home for safety, and she's a little scared of going back anyway.

* She's torn about what to make of the trials. For the most part, she thinks those who get punishments totally deserve what they get (and more besides - if you were one of the bad ones last year, watch out!), but Hermione's a calming influence and Ginny's just sick of all the fighting. Ugh.

* You'll encounter her if you're taking NEWT COMC, Charms, DADA or Transfiguration, and of course the Muggle Studies class. Asides from Quidditch, she's also in the Slug Club, though she's a bit "meh" about that now.

Oops, meant to do this yesterday but hello all! I'm Alexandra and will be bringing in one Parker Bole to the game :)

Parker is the younger brother of Lucian Bole who was the Beater on the Quidditch team in canon and is currently a sixth year Slytherin. He's a stickler for rules, loves reading and observing people and dreams of becoming the Minister of Magic one day with a love of politics. Um he also is a Chaser on the Quidditch team. He's friendly enough if you can get him to talk but he is on the quieter side when it comes to his personality. He was also a member of the IS but while he is a Purist he didn't agree with the violent ways of the Death Eaters and only joined the IS because it was the 'correct' thing to do.

So yeah! I suggest reading over his app here to get a better feel for him!

I'm gonna do this in bullet points because I suck at intro posts. My brain just goes 'blah' when it comes to them, lol.

• Wasn't a part of DA, but tried to do her best at helping other students out.
  
• ...doing an imitation of Alecto Carrow probably didn't help get her any brownie points. >.>
  
• Took part in the battle as part of the aerial strikes.
  
• Injuries included few broken bones, a little scarring from curses and a bad concussion after her fall.
  
• She's half-Scottish and half-Chinese, grew up in Scotland (which is why she has a scottish accent).
  
• Also bilingual, thanks to her heritage and all.
  
• Isn't your typical booksbooksknowledgeknowledge Ravenclaw; likes dancing and parties.
  
• Has an irrational fear of frogs. Seriously, she doesn't even like Chocolate Frogs.

Hi everyone! Hayley again with my third, Gryffindor prefect and former IS member Tristan Spinnet. And as he's still a prefect, you can assume that he wasn't too naughty last year, but feel free to hate on him anyway.

You can read more about him here, but basically he's a well-meaning and decent - if somewhat standoffish and serious - sort, and you can pretty much see why McGonagall picked him as a prefect. He was very much a reluctant IS member last year, joining because he felt like he should to look out for his housemates, and also to ease the pressure on friend and fellow prefect Victoria Frobisher from joining. He also had a very complicated family situation back home, with his Muggleborn sister-in-law being outed and the authorities threatening to remove his nephew from the family's custody. Thus it was suggested to him that he ought to do his best to stay on the good side of the Carrows at school. Oh, and most importantly, his big sister Alicia was killed by Cornelius Burke during the Battle of Hogwarts.

He's aware that some people will hate him by association (he's looking at you, Naomi Mundy), but at the moment he's more "dead sister + sad face" than worrying about what anyone thinks of him. So haters may not get much of a reaction, unless they're people he was good friends with previously and who he assumed would show more generosity towards him.

And plots! I want 'em. :)

Hi pples, hi! This is Nathalie with character two: Sarah Quick.

Sarah's Spencer's twin and she has this sort of resigned irritation of being referred to as such. Don't take it personally! It's a long history of things. However, despite that which might get a glare, Sarah's really - generally - a chill sort of girl. She's friendly, peppy, and loves to gives hugs. She is nosy and curious as all get out but isn't TOO terribly obvious about it. She has a strong Let Live policy. She thinks the entire blood purity credo is old news and pursed by backdated idiots, but really it's their right to be - so long as they aren't hurting anyone or any animals. She LOVES Arithmancy, Herbology, and Care of Magical Creatures. She is the Quidditch Captain of Hufflepuff and the beater as well - and feels a bit bad about being excited for this. She's into footie and is quite lackadaisical tomboy - That doesn't mean that she doesn't have her girly girl moments or her driven ones.

The thing that stands out about Sarah other than she's more stable than Spencer - except the moments when she really is off the wall, just be glad that they aren't often bouncy or pissy at the same time - and less likely to charge, or that she is really into Quidditch and dolls, is her sense of style. Which is very much on the alternative style, a mix of punk, perky goth, Victorian, and the nineteen sixties - among other things - it certainly stands out. I'm sure she's gotten weird looks and has been picked on for that. So bring it.

Hi lovelies! Ruby here with two, Megan Jones and Astoria Greengrass!

Megan Jones is returning for her eighth year. While most would know Megan as the fearless Quidditch Captain, with pretty much a guaranteed in to be playing professional after graduating, things changed, as they so often do. She was with Ernie when he was killed and has decided she's going to fulfill what he wanted and become an Auror. Megan really hasn't been the most studious but has been trying to instill new habits over the summer. During her seventh year, she attended Hogwarts but left during the Easter hols and stayed with her mother, Hestia Jones. She returned to fight and is now part of the new DA and pretty much hates Slytherins even more than she did before.

Astoria Greengrass greenstar is now a sixth year, former IS, but still retains her Prefect badge. She dated Aspen on and off and though she didn't really love him, she was fond of him and it was clear that they were going to be married after she graduated. However, lovely Aspen went and got himself killed during the war. Astoria was loyal to the IS, was wary of any non-Slytherin IS members, and she did her job well. When the DA was going around causing trouble, she did her best to stop it, and her wand aim was sharp. Astoria never went out of her way to be cruel or sneered at others unless they gave her a reason to first, but she did follow orders, enough to be remembered by the Carrows but also sparse enough not to be called upon too much. Her sister, Daphne, is returning for her eight year also!
