Severus’s hands trembled, the once precise motions shaky, as he chopped dittany and rue, minced the frog livers, crushed the rosemary.

The knife scraped his knuckles and he cursed.

Arms wrapped around his waist and hands guided his unsteady hands. “You’re the best Potions Master in Britain,” Harry said.

The dittany was mutilated, the frog livers were mangled. He’d forgotten the dried pomegranate seeds. “Not anymore,” he said.

He turned to touch Harry’s face with his thin fingers, smoothing away the wrinkles around the younger man’s eyes.

Kissing Severus’s scraped knuckles, Harry said, “Always.”

“With you to steady me, perhaps.”
