PLOT RULES CHARACTERS PBs APPLICATION

The students who attended Hogwarts throughout the 1970s faced numerous challenges. They found themselves in a world on the brink of war. Upon entering the school, some were taking their first steps into a magical world that was completely foreign to them. Others had lived in it all their lives and were about to leave the safety of Hogwarts to see what the world had in store for them. How will these students react to the world that is constantly changing around them? Who will they become and what roles will they take up as the times shift? It is in their power to answer these questions. We know a little of what they will do outside of Hogwarts. Let's see how they got there.

This is a canon school-oriented Marauders-Era RPG that does recognize Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

It's February of 1972 and the Marauders are in their first year!

The year is 1976 - a time of bellbottoms and platform shoes, disco music and embarrassing slang, burning bras and damning the establishment. It's a time of change and upheaval, where new ways of thinking are embraced by many and scoffed at by an equal amount. People are beginning to question the government, wondering if things should be done slightly differently. New kinds of music and fashion is emerging, making more conventional adults complain about the noise and wonder what will happen to the world with such a corrupt generation in the works. There is laughter, happiness, and the world is just as it always should have been.

But underneath the seemingly peaceful world, there is a darker plot being stirred about that is becoming increasingly difficult to ignore. Every day, more articles come out in the Daily Prophet describing strange attacks, curious deaths, and all out mysterious events that not even the editor can smooth over to not seem interconnected. The people are beginning to wonder, putting the puzzle pieces together. The older witches and wizards are reminded of the dark time of Gridelwald from years ago, praying that history will not go about its usual way of repeating itself. All the while, the not so quiet whisper of a man named Voldemort who prefers to be addressed as the Dark Lord goes through the masses.

Mad World is a role-playing game that takes place during the sixth year of the boys that we have come to know and love as the Marauders. We are a book canon compliant game, meaning that now that "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" has come out, we do expect all characters to abide by any and all canon that has been established by JK Rowling. We've been going strong since August of 2007, but we're always looking for more characters and players to join in the fun!

[info]euphorialane, is a post-Hogwarts, post-war canon up to Half Blood Prince game, set in the year 2003 and combining the magical world of Harry Potter, with social expectations and appointments. Unlike other games based on a no-war environment, Euphoria Lane provides mod designated events on a local, national, and international scale, so there will always be a plot to follow, alongside in-depth character development. We've also made it very easy for new players to catch up!

We are looking for motivated and creative role-players, who are willing to put effort into making the Harry Potter world as real as possible, through quality writing and original storylines. If you're a player looking to explore individual depths and development for a character you love, we invite you to join us with your wit, irony, and maybe a little flash of skin.

In return, we'll tickle your fancy with monthly organized game activities, writing challenges, and a space to create and develop the magical world of Harry Potter. This is a game focused on character development and writing, run by experienced moderators and completely drama free.

The Order of the Phoenix has spent years fighting against Voldemort, his Death Eaters and the very idea of Pureblood supremacy. Many people on both sides of this battle have given their lives for what they truly believed in and in the spring of 1998 the Wizarding world thought that they had received the final answer to the struggle between equality and supremacy. Harry Potter, surrounded by those who believed in him, defeated He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named for the final time. The wizarding world rejoiced as Voldemort's dark shadow was removed from their homes and communities and they were able to rebuild the lives that they had once had.

Now, as the wizarding world enters the year 2003, they find themselves facing danger from the very people many of them fought so hard to protect. The barrier between the Wizarding and Muggle world is deteriorating. Is there a new group of Death Eaters out there? Is it a remainder of Voldemort's plans? Rumours and speculation run rampid as the Ministry tries to determine the cause. As more and more Muggles stumble across the magical world and it's people, violence and hatred cross barriers, leaving Witches and Wizards every where wondering if maybe Voldemort had been right after all.

Now, as a new year dawns, Death Eaters and Order members will have to come together to fight off this new threat. Will old grievances get in the way and tear apart old wounds? How will new policies be hammered out? And most importantly, will the Wizarding world be able to survive as the hunted minority?

In anticipation of Harry Potter losing the protection of his relatives on his seventeenth birthday, hours before his death, Albus Dumbledore created a spell that could save the lives of thousands and change the course of magical history. It is a spell that on 31 July 1997, unexpectedly sends Harry, Dumbledore's Army, and the Order of the Phoenix back in time to the year 1978. There they are tasked with meeting up with the original Order, sharing the knowledge of the Horcruxes, and doing everything in their power to defeat the Dark Lord. Question is, will it be enough? And will the original members be able to handle news of their fates? Some discover they have died, others meet themselves alive and twenty years older, but they all have one thing in common: a desire to destroy Lord Voldemort.

Except there was one small glitch. They weren't the only ones sent back. Friends, loved ones, and enemies have also been sent back, and they, too, are armed with knowledge of the future. Instead of being the covert operation Dumbledore was expecting, it has turned into a race against time.

It is 1978 -- three years before Harry Potter defeats the Dark Lord, three years before Lily and James Potter die to protect their son, and three years before Sirius Black is framed for thirteen murders that Peter Pettigrew commits. But they're not just here to save their own lives. They're here to change the course of history.


The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.

When the Dark Lord Voldemort died, he released a wave of magic. A sort of magic no one had record of, intensely powerful and with incredible ability and desire to correct the mistakes of the past and to punish those that had made them. He hoped to send himself into his body from twenty years earlier - which he did successfully. The brain of the Dark Lord in December, 1976 was suddenly filled with knowledge from the following twenty years. Sufficient knowledge, in fact, to attempt to kill Harry Potter and his friends one last time. Knowledge that put him at a great advantage over all the others in the time period.

Or so he thought.

Though intelligent and meticulous, the magic pouring forth from Lord Voldemort at the time of his death was uncontrolled and went in all directions. Adults were hit, including the recently deceased and nearly dead, sending their souls spiraling back in time. Even this would have been below Voldemort's radar, he would have found the knowledge of others unimportant compared to his own, and thus having his followers by his side would help him little. What he didn't expect was an added blessing - young people of Harry's generation were pulled back in time right along with him. Unlike the adults, however, who had an existing body to land in, the children of his time appeared seemingly from nowhere. There was no explanation for the students to appear in this way - sprawled across the grounds outside of Hogwarts Castle, in varying states of injury and disarray.

Dumbledore took them in and immediately their tale was told. It was winter holidays, so many of the students from Hogwarts had already gone home, leaving the castle largely empty. The few stragglers witnessed the arrival of these new students, but they were quickly silenced while Dumbledore helped Harry and his friends come up with a cover story. They would claim to be homeschooled students, and would be given pseudonyms. The story would be that Hogwarts was opening its doors for the first time ever to late admittances, on account of the increasing danger that witches and wizards were facing in the world. They were, under no circumstances, to tell anyone what their true story was. Secrecy was key. They didn't know how or why they'd been sent back in time, but it was obvious the level of danger they faced if they weren't careful.

Of course, Voldemort would not be fooled for long... and he had a whole new agenda this time around, with Harry Potter at the center of it.

We all know how it ended and we've all read about how it got to that point, but how it all started is just as important. Join us as we get back to our [info]roots and discover the era that began it all. Before the Boy Who Lived ever took his first breath, witness the events that brought his parents together and the eventual turmoil that will take the entire wizarding world by storm. In Hogwarts and all over the rest of wizarding Europe, there is an aura of impending doom that has everyone in an unshakable state of unease. Rumors of murders and the unexplained circumstances surrounding them leave everyone nervous to walk out of their own front doors, wondering if they themselves could be next. Well, maybe not everyone. The Death Eaters are rising and determined to clean the bloodlines of the wizarding population, led by none other than Lord Voldemort, and the Order of the Phoenix is about to take to its own set of wings. Oh, yes, we all know what happens and how it ends, but the dynamics that shape the future start here.

It’s the beginning of the school year, 1997, when the first leaf falls to the ground. It was almost like everything was back to normal. The year before had become a distant memory as the students of Hogwarts returned to school with nothing to focus themselves on besides the every constant rumors that floated through the hallways, their social lives and, of course, actual schoolwork. Voldemort is gone, though some of his followers are still on the run or keeping to themselves to avoid attention. It’s almost as though it’s become another era, a happier one.

Without a war to worry about, the student body keeps itself busy by paying closer attention to the latest gossip or scandal going around the school, passing notes or sharing comments through their journals. New friendships and relationships are made, and Hogwarts has never been quite like this before.

Set in the trio's seventh year, RIDDIKULUS focuses on the school life and social interactions of the Harry Potter characters. We have a diverse cast, raging from those who thrive on gossip, to those who prefer to keep to themselves and their schoolwork, to the ones who love creating mayhem for the heck of it... and everything in between.

→ Following up where [info]snoggers left off, this game is canon up until HBP with details of the end of the war from Deathly Hallows. Everyone deceased from DH are void and up for grabs.
