Week Fifteen: Tuesday
Who: Gem, Libby, Saint, and Wolf?
What: Arguments about Gem's shop.
When: Tuesday mid-morning, breakfast time.
Where: The White House
Rating: PG. Mayhap some yelling, cussing, and foot stomping?
Status: In Progress

Gem woke slowly, feeling relieved and elated for a change. The past few days had been damn near pleasant. There was tension of course. It wasn't easy to have a "Lion" in the midst of the Wolves. Saint hadn't been in contact with too many people yet. Gem wasn't even sure Wolf wanted it to be common knowledge that he was here. But Gem was the happiest she'd been in a really long time. Her sister was safe, so was her man, and the house was beginning to take on the appearance of a home again. Not having much else to do, Gem had been cleaning as much as she could, repairing what could be repaired and tossing out what couldn't be salvaged. A lot of the house had been torn to shreds, as if someone was looking for something in every pillow and behind every picture frame. But with some glue and thread, Gem had managed to pull things together for the most part. She'd mad a run to the farm, with an escort of course, to get supplies that had been looted from the house. Thank goodness they'd gotten food on that supply run. She was in the mood to make breakfast.

Stretching cat-like in her bed, Gem sat up and straightened the long white t-shirt she'd slept in. Nova's- Her room (she was beginning to feel as is she belonged there) had been left relatively unharmed and most of her clothes had been with her at the farm, thank goodness. And her favorite pair of knee-high socks had been left in the top drawer of the dresser. The soft grey wool had been woven into the shape of socks by her mother and she had kept careful track of them through all her travels. After slipping them on and up over her knees, Gem crawled out of bed and leaned over Callum, pattin his head until he roused.

"Come on, you big lug. Let's go make breakfast." He followed her as she tiptoed down the stairs, his nails clicking lightly on the scarred hardwood floor. The kitchen was empty, sort of bare but clean at least. And they'd managed to get some spare dishes and cookware from the farm. Enough, at least, for Gem to make biscuits and gravy for breakfast. She got to work, humming an old Scottish hymn under her breath as she mixed dough together on the counter and let bacon sizzle in it's pan. As Callum settled in under the table, scents wafted through the house with her bell-toned song. People would be waking up soon. Hopefully breakfast would make them a bit more willing to listen to her plea. It was about time she set up her shop.

Saint had never truly settled into Lion living, sure he liked to live comfortably and he was lucky compared to some, but there were too many people Saint didn't respect and more so didn't trust - it made for a difficult living situation. However as Saint felt the bed lighten as his lover rose from sleep he felt a warm feeling stir in his chest, a fuzzy feeling that had only been growing since he'd met Gem. He was yet to be trusted here which was odd because normally the preaching made sure he was either respected out of fear or trusted because he believed in God, but with all the shit that had happened he couldn't blame Wolf for eyeing him warily everytime he came into a room. He was just thankful he'd let him stay by Gem's side, to love her from afar and protect her from the same distance would have been difficult torture.

Saint didn't crack an eye open when Gem left the bed, though he did feel cold the instant she had set foot on the floor and left the room completely. Rolling over he watched the dog follow her and then inhaled the sweet scent she'd left on the sheets. It made him giddy and he rolled back over, sprawled on his back just like the dog when thoroughly content, well fed and sated.

Scratching a growling tummy absently he rose from the bed, pulled on a pair of loose jogging bottoms and the t-shirt he'd discarded last night, he set off down the stairs towards the kitchen following the pots and pans clashing and the light hum of his lover as she set about playing suzie homemaker. Breakfast made by the one he loved suited him fine and just watching her potter about the kitchen made him ache for what would once have been such a simple request - a wife and a mother in his future - now it seemed like that wasn't such a realistic goal. Sneaking up behind her Saint wrapped his arms around her waist and buried his face in the back of her neck,

"Mmm," he moaned into her skin, "You look good pottering around the kitchen," he quipped cheekily, "Have you decided that after the hours of love making we endured you want to cook me breakfast?" he grinned with mock charm but didn't let her go to see the expression on her face.

She sensed him before those sweet lips found the skin of her neck. That delicious voice of his almost made her drop the spoon-full of gravy in her hand, but she managed to control herself- tasting the gravy and stirring a bit more milk into the pan before turning around to wrap her arms around his neck. She nuzzled her nose against his, kissing him a gentle good-morning while she tried to find words that would describe her elation. But she really couldn't. So she settled for the delightful banter that Saint was so good at.

"Och, after all those hours of love-making aren't you hungry?" She grinned up at him and ran her fingers lightly over his stomach through the fabric of his t-shirt. "I am. Besides, Libby is too much of a grouch in the morning to get up and make breakfast, Wolf won't be leaving bed while she's still in it, and you looked so absolutely perfect in my bed that I didn't want to wake you. Who else is there to cook in this house, hmm? And, if I'm the one cooking, I get to taste-test." Reaching behind her, Gem found the gravy and brought forth a spoon-full of the warm and heavy cream for Saint to try. She'd always loved cooking and feeding people and, while she wasn't the best cook in the world, she'd learned enough recipes from her mother to keep her own family satisfied someday... if she could ever have a family of her own, that was. For now, she would settle for feeding her lover.

The way she would slide against him was enough to make him want to take her from the kitchen and back into the bedroom but he held firm and let her kiss him in that sweet manner of hers, always tentative and soft as if she were kissing him again for the first time.

He grinned, he was rather hungry but he wasn't sure whether it was for food or his tiny nymph lady before him. He titlted his head a little, "I was already awake, I just like looking at you as you leave," he grinned cheekily and his hand slid lower covering the very part he'd been delighting in looking at. He leaned back a little letting her get the spoon full of gravy and bring it to him, he took a mouthful and smiled, "Perfect," he murmured, "Much like someone else I know," he smiled and kissed her on the mouth, not sweetly but hungrily, he couldn't get enough of her.

This was satisfaction, this was life, he needn't a family, and sometimes he felt maybe he needn't his faith either, so long as he had Gem. He had all her needed.

Gem smirked and let herself thirll in the act of hungrily kissing Saint. Gone was the sweet good morning that she'd given a moment ago and here was a hard press of lips and teeth, all hunger and desire and more take than give. The spoon she'd just fed him with almost clatterd to the floor as she tossed her arms around his lean torso, pressing herself to the hard length of him and asking in urgent moans and hums for him to open his mouth to her tongue. Pure bliss and contentment filled her, along with the passion and hatred of the idea of ever letting him go. She had the feeling that if another apocalypse hit Sundance right at this very moment and she lived, she would have all she ever needed in Saint. And if she died, she would die happier than she had ever been in her life.

When finally she had to pause and pull away for breath, Gem smirked up at her Irishman and pouted out her full lower lip. "Ah ghra, s'ah pity that you didn't let me know you were awake. Then we could have had this rousing little game in bed instead of on the kitchen counter." She bit that same lip, her teeth sinking into the pink flesh the same way they wanted to taste Saint's delicious skin.

Saint cocked a brow loving the husky tone her voice had taken at kissing him so hard he was sure he'd stopped breathing. The idea of having her in the kitchen wasn't as discouraging as she thought, in fact it was tempting, "It's not something I'd object too," he spoke with a raised brow. "My woman in the kitchen, my wman on the kitchen counter underneath me whilst cooking my breakfast," he let his head fall back a little, "This doesn't ring any alarm bells to me love," he ducked her swatting hands.

Turning away and reluctantly sitting down on a chair near the rickety looking but actually sturdy table he felt at a loss for a paper. Watching her continue he posed his first real question of the day "Just what are you doing up so early? Darting around delivering leathered goods before 1pm?"

Gem grinned- flushed a gentle and rosy pink, partially with pleasure and partially with embarrassment. Her hands were small but fast, darting out to swat at his shoulders and ears. He was incorrigible. Not that she completely objected. If her sister and Wolf had not been in the house, she might have enjoyed a little mid-breakfast romp. But she had more important matters to worry about. Her shop wasn't going to set up itself and now, with everyone working to build Sundance back to it's pre-war glory, she might be able to trade some help or some of the tools she'd need for the promise of leather goods once her shop was up and running. But first, she had to get Saint, Wolf, and Libby to let her out from under their cumulative thumbs.

"No deliveries unfortunately... I haven't had the proper resources to get anything substantial done... but it's all related... I actually need to get you and Libby and Wolf all sitting at the same table before I really bring everything up. I have a bit of a... well of a request to present to the three of you-" She hesitated for a moment, taking the time to turn down the burner, place a loaded plate in front of Saint, and sit caddy-corner from him at the table. Drawing her feet up beneath her on the wooden chair, Gemini voiced the thought that she knew he wasn't going to be ecstatic about, "I need to go back to the Shipwright's Arms. My shop isn't going to set itself up and the poor old pub is going to waste."

Hope it's ok for me to jump in here?

Wolf was tense about tomorrow's meeting with this man called Jax. He wanted to believe that the jackals had a genuine desire for peace, that they truly had eradicated the threat of the Lions - not just changed places with them. He was conflicted because he believed Libby's stories of how awful Jax was but he wanted even more to believe that things could be different now that the Lions were gone. He was finding it hard to balance his hope with reassuring Libby in his belief and support for her.

As a result he was finding it hard to sleep from all of the different thoughts and scenarios that were constantly running around in his head. Not to mention, he hadn't completely warmed up to the idea of having Saint in the tribe, let alone living with them. He'd half-jokingly told Libby in a private moment that Saint only need be slightly rearranged to spell Sat(i)an! Yet, accepting Saint also had a part to play in his acceptance of Libby's stories. So all things considered he just wasn't quite sure where he stood. He hoped that tomorrow's meeting would clear some things up for him.

He snuck out from beneath the warmth of his bed that he'd been sharing with Libby since she'd been back home. He didn't want to wake her up, she'd been having as much trouble sleeping as he had. Wolf walked into the kitchen just in time to hear Gemini say that something was going to waste. He got a glass of water from one of the many water jars in the fridge and sat down at the table, looking rather sleep deprived and unimpressed with the fact that he was sitting next to Saint. He sipped his water, too preoccupied to even offer a greeting.
