Almost every night since her return, Libby had gone to sleep snuggling as close to Wolf as humanly possible. Her silly superstition about bad things happening when she left him had been reaffirmed. But her need to be near him went beyond that. She feared Jax and the people he brought with him. Though the Mountain Lions had been bad, Libby felt Jax had invaded their mostly happy place. Having Wolf nearby helped her to feel a little bit more at peace. He was not Superman, but she knew he would do everything in his power to keep the tribe safe.
At the same time, this worried her. The daily stress Wolf went through was evident, and as his adviser, Libby felt it her duty to ease that stress. But even she did not have all the answers. After she had briefed Wolf about all she knew on Jax, she had tried to leave the subject alone. Her fears did not need to become his, though, as the leader, she felt he needed to be very aware of the newcomers. But when the message from Jax arrived, Libby's heart sank. She now kept Wolf close to her for fear of what might happen to him in the future. She could not lose him. Not now. Not after she had finally shared her virginity with him. Wolf meant too much.
Through her sleep-hazed consciousness, she felt the bed move as Wolf left it, but paid it little mind. It was not until the bed grew cool from lack of extra body heat that Libby finally awoke. As groggy as she was, the smell of bacon lured her from the bed. She padded down stairs in her shin-high black socks with little neon multi-colored paint splatters, light blue pajama pants, and a gray tank top. Yawning ungracefully, and rubbing the sleep from her eyes, she entered the kitchen and sat down at the table. Libby slid her chair closer to Wolf so she could rest her chin on his shoulder and place a gentle kiss on his cheek.
"Morning," she greeted softly, letting her fingers play with the hair on the back of his head, just above his neck. "Thanks for breakfast," she offered, directing her eyes to Gemini. Libby abhorred mornings, but bacon certainly made it a bit more bearable.
