Re: To Gem...?
Her shoulders tensed when she heard the door open. Of course they couldn't just let her come out to the porch and shed tears on the vibrant purple paint. Callum nuzzled his head further into her lap when he felt her muscles tighten. The tears falling on the poor dog's head were hot and steady, Gemini's heart beat steady but fast in her chest. She was upset- had every right to be in her mind. Why couldn't they understand that she felt so useless? She'd done so little since she'd arrived in Sundance. A little baking here, one or two of her bracelets there, and any other sort of odd job when she was able but this shop could be a help to so many people! She could be fixing saddles and creating tools for the farm and warm boots and coas for winter but no! She was sitting here at the white house most days, reading books and making beds and staring at walls doing nothing.
She refused to look at Saint when he spoke to her- despite the fact that her mother had taught her the importance of eye contact as soon as she could speak. She knew that one look at his beautiful face and those emotion filled eyes would be her undoing- she would start sobbing in ernest. She did her best to stare straight ahead and ignore what she was sure to be another attempt to convince her she needed to be careful... but instead she heard an apology.
Gemini let go of Callum's head and buried herself in the warmth of Saint's arms. The soft material of his shirt muffled the quiet heaving of her breath and caught the tears that wouldn't stop streaming down her cheeks. Her voice was muffled against the solid breadth of his chest and her brogue intensified with her emotions, "Saint, I... I just... I'm so useless sitting in the sodding house all the times!" Her shoulders shook with the force of her disappointment, "I f-found the perfect place an- and now it's n-not safe eno-enough. I'll have to w-wait even lu-longer to be of any h-help in this t-town!" She fell silent and just cried, the intensity of her sadness just too much for her to continue at the moment.
