Who: Meredith and Julie
What: Meeting to discuss the clinic
Where: Julie's place
Warnings: None, but will update if needed.
After finding a semi-decent place to settle for the time, Meredith tucked her more precious items out of sight and decided to make her way over to Julie's place. The small apartment she'd found could wait to be decorated or as decorated as it would get under current circumstances. She'd be lucky if she could find anything resembling furniture in this place. Maybe she could search after her meeting with the other woman? Or maybe Julie knew of a place where she could find some. She'd probably been here longer than Meredith and had a better grasp on the Projects than the doctor did at the moment. Maybe she could even give her the name of a place to get some food or trade for it. Even if she couldn't, Meredith was excited to meet with her for the sheer reason of the clinic and finally finding someone a lot like herself who just wanted to help people to help them and expected nothing in return. Plus, maybe they could be friends too and Meredith would never be opposed to the idea of having someone she could talk to and rely on when needed. In her travels, she really hadn't had anyone like that in a long time. It'd be nice for it to change, to have someone she could confine in again, even if she never had to opportunity to be close to someone. She was a Fell, a founding family member, and she'd known about the vampires since before she could comprehend anything else. Secrets did what they did best; they kept you from ever being really close to anyone.
Throwing on her jacket, Meredith zipped up quickly and tied her hair back in a messy bun. Taking a notebook and a pen, she grabbed a few tea packets she'd managed to hold on to and started over. She wasn't sure if Julie liked tea or coffee or both, but she thought she would offer anyway. Meredith felt it was rude to go over for a meeting and not bring something along for the person kind enough to host it. She was surprised she'd even had the tea left. She'd gone through a lot of her rations on the way here. not to mention the food that had gone bad too. The streets were pretty full, but during the day was probably the safest time to do anything here. It was no secret that a good majority of vampires called this place home and there was even a vampire bar here too. Meredith planned to make it one of her first stops once things were more established with the clinic. Vampire blood would be a vital part of saving lives. The only downfall? The chance that the person could die with it in their system and thus go into transition to be a vampire themselves. It was a risk that usually didn't matter, but it was a risk and Elena was a prime example of that outcome of injected vampire blood.
Meredith kept to herself as she slipped through the streets, saying a "hi" here or there, but nothing more to the passerbyers. The fact that this place was dangerous was not lost on her; she just didn't let it bother or stop her too much. Another street and she reached her destination. Meredith tapped lightly on the door and waited for a response.
