"A few years. Maybe five or so?" Julie guessed. She had once been an architecture student but then that thing that she didn't like to think about happened to her. After that she changed directions quickly and became a freelance social worker for the broken city she lived in. "If you count my time on the road as working. I tried to help people where I can."
She smiled at that and took a sip of her tree. Crabby hopped around in his enclosure but Julie's eyes were glued to Meredith's. It was so fascinating to meet someone like her. Someone who wasn't afraid to set up shop on the wrong side of the tracks. Even Dante, for all his help, still gave Julie a look like she was the craziest person he had ever met. Most people assumed Julie would end up getting eaten or something but so far she had survived and she intended to continue offering her services in the projects.
"Wow. I never heard of anyone using vampire blood in medicine but it absolutely makes sense," she said. "But dealing with the vampires is dangerous. Are you sure you want to take on that responsibility alone?" Julie asked, raising a blonde eyebrow in Meredith's direction. In a perfect world she knew that Dante was the one for that job, he could hold his own against the vampires. But she doubted that Dante could be as convincing with his fists as a pretty brunette could be with her... words. "I'm willing to help is all that I'm saying. In any way that I can." Julie smiled. She wasn't going to condemn Meredith for her choices considering her own. "But what will you trade with?"
