meredith fell is a cheater with good intentions. (icheat) wrote in zombieslogs,
Julie sounded very worldly. Meredith really hadn't been anywhere outside the United States. Sometimes, she was surprised she ever made it out of Mystic Falls, Virginia, given her family history as a relative to a founding family. Fells were not known for having the best luck. Logan had been killed in Mystic Falls, and her realtive, Honoria Fell, had been killed by the one and only Stefan Salvatore. There was nothing remotely special about them either except that they carried the title of 'founding' around with them. Meredith hoped to make more to her name than just as a founding family member. She wanted to do something that mattered. Becoming a doctor and saving lives definitely fell into the category, but she'd been a doctor for more than such selfish reasons. "Well, it's very cute," she offered with a small smile. She couldn't remember hearing about a Crabbit in Australia, but she assumed there were a lot of animals in the world that were not known to science and mankind.
It was vague, but so far, a lot of Julie's answers had lacked in specifics. A city could be any city after all. Meredith wasn't out to judge. People had secrets. It was a known fact. If Julie ever wanted to share more, well, Meredith would around to listen. Sometimes, it took longer for people to open up then it did for others. Meredith knew that she carried a rather mysterious air about her even in her home of Mystic Falls. Most people knew her family history, but nothing about Meredith specifically. She could understand why Julie wanted to keep it that way; Meredith wasn't appalled to the idea of it either. Sometimes the less people knew about you the better. "Helicopter? Really? I never even heard of it." Meredith reached for the cup and wrapped her hands around it eagerly. "I'm guessing it was a big lie." Not surprising. It was easier for people to just leave them here to die then try to figure out those who were infected and those who weren't.
Meredith took a sip of tea. "Mystic Falls, a small town in Virginia. It was pretty long, I didn't set out for this place at first, but I heard about it and decided to try and get here myself," she replied. Meredith had no goal in mind when she left Mystic Falls except to save lives and continue being a doctor. Hearing of Everett finally gave her a location to head for. It sounded like a place where she could actually start to make a difference. Rebuilding her life was out of the question and Meredith never expected to have such a place like she did in Mystic Falls again. The world was far too changed for that normalcy to ever take up root once more. "Well, the clinic would be for any medical service. Social work included. We need a place. Maybe you know of a few around here? I'm going to start looking myself, too. We will need supplies, but maybe Dante can help with that," she answered softly. "Yes. I want to give them trust. We won't ask for payment. Not ever. However, I do use vampire blood to heal patients, but I'd be the one making the trade for the blood. I know, depending on the blood, it can be a risk. But I heard rumors about blood here that has no risk of turning the one who ingests it. I'm not sure it's true, but I want to look into it." If it hadn't been for her friends who were vampires, Meredith might have possessed a bad percetion of them like a lot of others. Stefan, Damon, and others had changed that.
"A while. Being out there...time all starts to run together," she looked down into her cup. Her degree and a lot of other personal things she'd been proud of as a doctor were lost when she had to flee Mystic Falls. "What about you? How long have you been is social service?"
