meredith fell is a cheater with good intentions. (icheat) wrote in zombieslogs,
"He offered to help with the clinic too. He sounds like a nice guy," she replied softly. They were going to need all the help they could get in making this entire operation happen. There were a lot of people that believed they could do it-the response to her post proved it-but there was also a lot of people who didn't think it would work. They had good reason. The Projects were dangerous, deemed unsafe by more than a few people and that didn't change just because someone had to decided to been brave or stupid enough to try and bring a bit of order and help to it. Meredith was determined though and while the threat of death was always hanging over her head, she refused to give into the fear. In this world, death was everywhere now, you couldn't live by the fear of it any longer.
The brunette leaned forward to get a closer look at the little creature bouncing around it's cage. It was curious and Julie was right: he was definitely not from around here. If he was a "he" anyway. Julie said she didn't know how to tell the gender and Meredith could understand why. Just from a where she sat, Meredith really couldn't tell either, but it was cute. Little crab claw hands, a small little fluffy white tale and definitive bunny ears, all helped to assure the correctness of his or her name. Crabby. It was a cute name too. "He's cute. Or sher. Looks friendly too," she commented, moving just a bit to take a closer look at the small, exotic creature. Maybe Meredith would get some sort of pet once she was settled in.
"You travel a lot then. Where have you been?" she asked the blond curiously. Meredith couldn't remember when she left the United States. Given the circumstances, it had been more than a little while for sure. Like she recalled numerous times, the concept of time and dates was still coming back to her. Out in the wilderness, she had no reason to keep track of those things. All she had to focus on was living another day and trying to save a life if she could. Most days she only succeded at the first one. Death became far too common out there and that was saying a lot. Meredith had worked in hospitals a while and thought she'd seen everything, but it was nothing compared to what the zombie infested world looked like.
