meredith fell is a cheater with good intentions. (icheat) wrote in zombieslogs,
Meredith already had an idea for who the vampire might be, but she was also extremely hesitant to ask him. As protective, caring, and kind as this vampire might be, he'd need to be able to take watching a human be literally drained of blood, not just a sip, and be okay with it. Stefan was all of those things, but could he restrain himself or deal with watching her, someone he knew and was on friendly terms with, have their blood drawn by a vampire. She wasn't sure Stefan wouldn't just say "no" to the entire proposal anyway and if that was the case, Meredith would have to go looking for someone else, maybe Damon or someone she didn't even really know. It didn't matter. The transaction of blood had to happen because she didn't see a vampire bargaining for anything else and vampire blood was a definite healer of all things aside from death itself. It was needed to help the clinic and Meredith, as leader of the entire thing, would never think of asking anyone else to do it. It was her job, as the doctor, and as founder of this clinic to put herself up for the task.
"I think I do. He's name's Stefan. I think he would agree to it, but I just have to figure out how to go about asking him," she replied, gaze dropping to cup. Could she get him to agree though? That was the thing. Would he agree to just stand there and let her be hurt, someone he just might consider a friend? It was difficult. Stefan was loyal and saved people. He wasn't one to stand back and let someone be hurt if he could stop it. Besides, there was a bigger issue at hand. Stefan was a ripper at heart and she wasn't sure if watching her bleed by another vampire wouldn't trigger his own vampiric nature. It was risky, but even if he refused, maybe he could ask Damon or another vampire he knew from the prison with a better hold on their fangs. Either way, the entire thing was risky and stupid. Meredith didn't need her medical degree to tell you that. Anytime you did something that could kill you, it was dangerous and so far all she had done was choose that particular path. She just couldn't turn away now though.
Meredith lifted her cup and drained the last of her tea from inside. No matter what, she didn't see them getting away with such a plan complete free of some faults. In fact, she expected it. They were doing something someone hadn't ever done before here and it didn't matter if their intentions were good or not. Besides vampires, some of the general public could be against it to, likeJulie's room mate was. Normal humans could pose a possible issue to, but one thing at a time. She liked to think the majority of people here would be for a chance at health care that didn't involve bloodletting and the risk of their own life when they could possibly already be in the cold, icy grip of death anyway. "Even if he says no, I'm sure he knows another vampire that would be willing to help," she added with a hopeful smile. "I trust him, but I'd understand if he didn't want to watch me get nearly eaten."
