Rogue slid on one of her nicer pairs gloves before she walked out of her cell with a cheerful smile lighting up her face. She knew that Logan didn't care about appearances, hell, she could probably meet him at the gate in a pair of sweats and one of her more worn out shirts without him batting a lash at her outfit, but it didn't stop her from wanting to look good. It'd been nearly an entire month, Jesus did time fly by quickly, since she'd last seen him and that day she'd been covered in black goo thanks to the leviathans. Appearances aside, though, it had felt like old times when they'd finally fought side by side again. Not once had she ever doubted that Logan would live long enough to see the end of the zombie infestation but there were plenty of times that she thought she'd never see him again. Those nights on the road were the loneliest as she'd spent most of the time thinking about everyone she'd lost before and after the virus outbreak. The list was a long one, but at the very least she was able to cross out Logan's name.
It was probably a terrible thought to have, but if only one person from those times was around, she was grateful that it was him. She loved all of the friends she'd made at school and there was still a little part of her that would always be in love with Bobby, but Logan was the one that saved her life and the first person that actually cared about her after her mutation had manifested. He was the person that had given her solace when when she had felt like she didn't belong anywhere, not with her family or even with others like her at school. He was her family and it was as simple as that. So if she made sure not to look completely horrible in his presence, it was understandable.
Rogue pushed aside those thoughts, she didn't want him to worry over her because she got a bit teary-eyed thinking about the past, and took a quick breath. Much better. The smile was back on her lips by the time she made it to the front gate. "Logan!" She ran over to him the minute she spotted him and wrapped her arms around him in a tight hug. She wasn't a child anymore, but she was allowed to indulge in a hug or two.
