Who: Evie Bagnold and Draco Malfoy When: Wednesday afternoon, after classes Where: Quidditch pitch What: Scene Lottery! The Quidditch Pitch was supposed to be empty that morning Rating: not higher than PG Open/Closed: closed
Sitting in the sun with her books spread around her, Evie began to think this might have been a mistake. She certainly wasn't getting any further with the essay she had been attempting to write. Initially she had thought that being outside in the fresh air would help to revive her brain, but it just wasn't a happening thing for her.
Sighing, she packed up her books, but didn't make a move to get up. She lay back, eyes closed, luxuriating in the sunlight on her face, when a shadow blocked out the light. Opening her eyes, she squinted up at the figure standing over her. |

WHO: Ginny Weasley & Sam Capper WHAT: Two awesome people hanging out doing awesome things WHERE: The Quidditch pitch WHEN: Saturday night WARNINGS/RATINGS/STATUS: None/PG/Ongoing
Ginny couldn't stand it one minute more. She needed to get out. Sure it was nice to see Vicky and Demelza and Sam (especially Sam) again, but she was going to spend the rest of the year in this room with them and after the summer she'd had, she needed to not be inside anymore. She grabbed a jacket and made several lame excuses as left the common room and clambered out of the portrait.
Her hands stuffed in her pockets, Ginny made her way downstairs and slipped outside, taking a deep breath of the cool, clean air. She took a moment to survey the grounds, then set off towards the Quidditch pitch. Captaincy would certainly be different, not in a bad way, Ginny was more than ready to take over the leadership position, but she knew that there would be loads of people questioning her ability. The good thing was that both Harry and Ron seemed to be interested in at least staying on the team. Them plus Demelza meant there were three less people she needed to worry about replacing.
Although, she considered, gnawing at her lower lip, she'd probably do just as well thinking about replacing Ron. Not that he wasn't a good player, she just didn't have the patience to coddle and baby him before every match. She heaved a little sigh and hunched her shoulders, shaking her head so her hair moved out of her face. It'd be worth it. She was sure she'd put together an amazing team, and then she could show her mother that playing Quidditch professionally wasn't a mistake. |

WHO: Verity & Fred WHAT: Talkin' bout the Order WHERE: Verity's flat again WARNINGS/RATING/STATUS: None/PG/Ongoing
Closing her journal, Verity supposed that she shouldn't be surprised that Fred had managed to keep the secret of the Order quiet for so long. For as loud as he was, he knew when to keep his mouth shut. A part of her was hurt that she hadn't known about the Order, like she hadn't known about the DA when they were in school. Did Fred think she couldn't be trusted? Obviously not or she'd still be in the dark, and wouldn't be working for him.
So why then? She heaved a sigh and tossed her journal onto the coffee table. Throwing herself back onto the couch, she wriggled around until she got comfortable, propping her feet up on the arm, her hands folded across her stomach.
She quite obviously had a stake in the war, being a halfblood. It wasn't as though anyone would ever think that she was in support of You-Know-Who... so why?
Her thoughts were interrupted by a noise at the door and she reached behind her to grab her wand, ready to unlock the door when Fred announced himself. |

The Hogwarts Express - Another Year at Hogwarts Begins |
[Sep. 1st, 2009|10:07 am] |
Who: Anyone going to Hogwarts. What: The train ride. Where: Platform 9 3/4 and then the Hogwarts Express When: September 1st, 11 a.m. Rating: TBD
The Hogwarts Express leaves Kings Cross Station, London without fail at 11 a.m. on September First. It has done so every year, and will continue to do so, and this bright September morning was no exception. The bustle on the platform as families said goodbye was, perhaps, quieter than usual. More worried. With the rumours and evidence of dark happenings growing stronger every day, a large number of the parents were less happy about sending their children off.
Still, it was Hogwarts, and for many their only option, and so here they were, and what they lacked in good spirits they made up for in tight hugs and words of love, for the most part. Perhaps some felt better because it was Hogwarts, a bastion of safety for centuries, but much of that faith had been in Dumbledore himself, and with his stepping down, the worry and trepidation was thick in the air of Platform 9 3/4 as students kissed their parents goodbye and boarded the scarlet train, ready (or not) for another year. |
