WHO: Daphne Greengrass & Zacharias Smith
WHAT: Daphne is still mad about a certain owl.
WHERE: Random hallway encounter.
WHEN: Late evening, tonight - Monday, September 7, 1997
RATING: R - language, definitely.
At this point, Daphne was beyond angry. Mad was an understatement, however within the Slytherin Common Room she was forced to keep a controlled and calm demeanor. The last thing she wanted was to give off the idea that something was wrong. Keeping her distance, that crumpled owl rested on the table that she claimed as her own. Attempting to see preoccupied with homework, she was actually writing out numerous howlers, and letters to her mother and father about their recent urging for her to marry Nikolas Vaisey. Hands were actually shaking with anger, as she looked like she was about to blow. Students constantly gossiping and giggling, and laughing really began to get to her, though. Why were they allowed to be so happy, while she was utterly miserable? Lips curled into a disgusted sneer, as she tossed down her quill, and pulled out her wand. "Incendio." She hissed, as the parchment she was just writing on went up in flames before dying out just as quickly to leave a scorch mark. Snatching the owl off the table, an icy glare was shot towards all the members in the common room that were looking at her before she stormed out of the dungeons.
Air, she needed air, and space. Even alone she felt so cramped, throwing open the door from the dungeons, Daphne stalked down a practically empty corridor. Turning down another hall, and then another, not even paying attention to which direction she was heading until she realized she came to a dead end. Halting at the end of the corridor, the girl looked around. A door leading outside was to her left, and a tapestry hung at the end of the hallway. The silence was a bit eerie, especially since she just spent the last hour in a talkative common room. Sighing heavily, Daphne attempted to calm down and clear her mind, yet all that could race through it was her disgust for her family at the moment. It felt so strange to her, just a week ago, she had such familial pride, never ashamed of her Greengrass heritage, however now since this owl recommending an arranged marriage? Daphne wasn't so sure if she wanted to be apart of a family that supported such medieval traditions. She understood she wasn't the easiest to get along with, she wasn't the best girlfriend / wife material, but she would rather grow old and alone than grow old and miserable with someone she was forced to marry just for the namesake.
Leaning against one of the walls, shockingly steel grey-blue eyes stared out the window at the opposite side of the wall. Fingers running over the crumpled owl in her hand. She had no idea what she was going to do, and for once in her life, she felt alone, and scared. Though, she would never ever admit that. This was the last thing she ever expected, and it was certainly the last thing she ever wanted. She was utterly lost with ideas of what to do, the numerous owls and howlers were not going to make any major impact, and she knew that. Fingers lifted to pinch the bridge of her nose, as brown strands obscured her gaze.
She hadn't even changed out of her uniform, knee high white stockings accented those sinfully long legs, as black pleated skirt hugged her hips. White button up shirt, had the sleeved neatly rolled up over her elbows, and her green and silver tie cinched around the collar. Her entire presentation was clean, and crisp - even with it being the end of the day. Her shirt lacked any wrinkles, and stains, the Slytherin Crest sewn neatly over the left side. Despite feeling like she was falling apart on the inside, she still held a well put together appearance outwardly. Appearances are everything, right? Maybe if she could just calm down, she would be all right.
