Who: Blaise Zabini and Daphne Greengrass
What: An apology
Where: Slytherin Common Room
When: Evening
Rating/Warning: Hrm...Let's go with PG-13 for now. I'll change it if need be.

There weren't a lot of times that Blaise actually felt bad for the way he reacted to things, especially with the majority of people around him. He wasn't particularly kind to his mum either, mostly because she always galvanted around magical areas finding an old, filthy rich wizard to marry within a couple of weeks. It was always the same with them no matter what the situation might have contained, even though he was mostly a good son around her. That was besides the point. The male had actually felt bad for writing a note a few days ago to Daphne. He wasn't sure why, but he had expected the woman to not return to Hogwarts early because of the amusing events that had occured just before the New Year.

Their plans were ruined those last few days and even though they basically had planned what would occur to bring in the new year, Blaise had really only wanted to spend some time with Daphne. Sure, they acted on things that were more then borderline things to do with a friend and they had fun doing such actions, of course, but the male had merely wanted to spend time alone with her. They always had someone around them, whether it be in the common room or one of their many places. It just seemed as that was the case though, at least in his perspective.

Usually one to feel too proud to exactly let an apology come out of his mouth, it would be slightly difficult for him to accomplish such a task, but it had to be done. The two hadn't spoken in a couple of days, which felt too weird for Blaise's liking. Daphne was among the small group of others that the male actually could stand. Heck, they had even met each other's parental units. Not alot of other students could say that about their friends within the building. He just wanted everything to go back to the way they were as easily as possible. Of course, that might not be quite too easy, especially withing the female's case. If Blaise knew her well enough, she'd play it for all it's worth to hear a full apology come straight out of his mouth. Dancing around the words never really came that easily, unless the male wanted something in return.

It had took quite a bit of time to search out for the female. He had asked a few female slytherins to see if Daphne had disappeared into her dorm room or asked if she had ventured off elsewhere. Blaise had checked the usual hang outs, twice to be techincal, before heading back towards the common room, sitting down rather comfortable on the couch. She would eventually have to end up returning there, right? Of course, she had to come down for classes or enter to return to her dorm. Then, he would practically pounce against the female, so he could muster up an apology, or at least dance around those exact words. He was hoping for the latter though.

It wasn't Daphne's fault that she was forced to return back to the castle, and it certainly wasn't her fault that she didn't inform any of her friends. Audrina didn't seem so upset about it, but then again, Daphne didn't make plans with her for New Years. While she couldn't understand why Blaise was so upset, it made her angry that he was obviously upset at her. What made her even more frustrated was the fact that she really couldn't do anything about it. She offered to make it up to him, but he said that was not necessary. So what was a girl to do but just be frustrated that one of her only friends was mad at her for something she couldn't help. On top of that? She was back at Hogwarts against her will. It made no sense, she wasn't a mudblood, nor a half blood for that matter. Her family tree was as clean and pure for generations. There was no mud in her family! However... Daphne knew that her parents weren't in alliance with the Dark Lord, they were more set on themselves, and keeping their family, and blood pure. Much like herself, they felt it was best to leave the muggles well enough alone, and just live out their own lives as purebloods. Life would be so much simpler if everyone just left the muggles alone.

However, no matter how much she hated the fact that she was back at school earlier than she would have liked, she could not deny that the quiet common room was appreciated. Even with students back and classes resuming, students seemed wary of lingering in the hallways, and common room. Especially the Slytherin's. They were either too bitter about having to return early, or gossiping up in their dormitories in privacy.

Less students in the common room meant that the spot right in front of the fireplace was free. Curled up on the sprawling fur rug laid out on the floor by the fireplace, Daphne was reading. Legs tucked to her side, her back was perfectly aligned and rigid as she poised the book up in her hands. The Philosophy of the Mundane: Why Muggles Prefer Not to Know was holding her attention. Hidden by the large sofa which faced the fireplace as well, Daphne overhead commotion on the other side of the common room.

Head tilted just slightly, as her blue gaze remained on the pages of the book in her hands though her ears were tuned to Blaise's voice as he seemed to be looking for her. Lips curled into a devious smirk as she just remained quiet, and kept to her book.

Dressed in the usual uniform, black pleated skirt hugged her slender waist, as an emerald green sweater hugged her sharp curves. A pair of black knee highs ran up those sinfully long legs, and black patent leather heels were placed off to the side. Head tilted just slightly as she heard the boy sit on one of the other couch, glance finally tore away from her book to take a quick look over at the boy.

"Looking for something?" Her voice was quiet, as if speaking too loud would disturb the silence in the common room. Making herself seem uninterested, her gaze went back to the book in her hands.

After it almost seemed as though he looked for an eternity for the female, she had appeared in the place where he expected her to be. Blaise had looked in the common room first, however, at that time she wasn't anywhere to be found. Now, she was sitting there upon the ground comfortably with a book in her hand. It was his luck alright, basically. The male looked at her for a moment and tilted his head, wondering what was going on within her mind. She acted as though she didn't really take interest with his presence in the room. Actually, he did deserve it, even though he wasn't about to admit it towards anyone. He had reacted in a way that didn't need to be really. Being upset just because the woman's parents had sent her back early that was beyond her control? Not a reason to get all their emotions in a bunch. It wasn't her fault. Blaise knew that, yet he couldn't seem to place his words a few days ago in such a manner.

Blaise approached Daphne causally, sliding his hands into his pockets as he did so. Eyes seemingly traced over each curve of the female's body by there mere way she had decided to present herself on the rug in front of the fireplace. Even though an apology was surely needed first, the male couldn't help but want to scoop her up in his arms and do what they had planned to do for New Years. However, he knew Daphne all too well. She wanted to hear the words come out of his own lips before any friendliness occurred between them. If he knew anyone better then the rest, it really would be the woman that sat before him without a doubt. She knew him, just like he knew her.

"I'm looking for you," he replied within the moment of her question. Blaise retilted his head towards the other side, keeping his gaze firmly upon Daphne. "It seems that you've been hiding from me. I've looked in every nook and cranny for you." Not really even asking for permission to sit down next to her, that was exactly what the male did at that moment. He did leave a space between them for the time being though, just in case. Well, he didn't feel like being slapped in that sort of way even before they had a chance to talk. The male did take note of the book that she was reading at that moment, remembering the penny that he had sent her in a box for christmas. It really did make him curious of what she did with that small item over the holidays.

Sitting in silence for a few seconds later, Blaise raised his eyebrows. He had expected the female to say a little bit more about him being around. It wasn't even a formal greeting that one would give a good friend really, even though he did deserve such a treatment. "You seem rather interested in that book."

"Oh?" Daphne said with an icy passiveness, she didn't want to seem too interested in him. After all, she was supposed to be mad at him. Or at least frustrated. "Whatever were seeking me out for? Decided having a row over journals wasn't enough and wanted to tell me in person how thoughtless I was?" There was a bite in her words, as she realized exactly how offended she was. Her words intended to dig into him as bitter venom practically seethed through. It all dawned on her rather quickly about how upset she was, it was not longer for the fact that she had to go back to Hogwarts. Now, it was because he actually thought that she was being thoughtless. She tried to explain to him before that this was all her parents doing. She hardly had time to crack open her journal until she was situated on the train and heading back to Hogwarts. Why was he mad at her? For no bloody reason!

"Perhaps you just weren't looking hard enough." She replied rather bluntly. Sapphire blue gaze continued scanning over the pages of the book, as she attempted to seem more interested in the book than talking to Blaise. Though, that act was growing difficult as she continued to give Blaise that cold, nonchalant attitude. Daphne knew that it wasn't smart to ostracize one of her two only friends, but her stubbornness couldn't help but keep that grudge.

When he finally mentioned her being interested in the book, blue gaze lifted from the page which she currently read about five times. Focusing her stare on him, a finely sculpted brow arched up. "It's fascinating," Lie. "Muggles are intriguing creatures." Save. Don't refer to them as humans, refer to them as animals.

Daphne's interest in muggles was really more of a curiosity. After talking to Dean about muggle items, her interest had been piqued. Their lives seemed so dull, and manual. Everything had to be done by hand, even things that couldn't be done hand, they built machines to with their hands to do things. It was so difficult, and confusing, and the allure that magic held in the wizarding world was completely forgotten about in the muggle world. It made no sense.

Listening to Daphne's words and tone of voice, Blaise could tell that she was attempting to make him feel bad. It was to be expected, especially since he had taken everything in a different way then need be. If the male could take back his inital reaction that she had returned to Hogwarts without him, then that was exactly what he'd do. She meant more to him then he even cared to actually be vocal about. There weren't many people that he honestly let into his life and know every inch of the little things. She was definietly one of those small amount of others, which the woman knew whole heartedly and sometimes it was quite evident that it was used for her benefit. At least, that what he thought at times. If those thoughts were true though, Blaise wouldn't complain at all.

"Now you know that's not true," he replied moments later. Blaise knew fully well that Daphne didn't think that he searched out for her just to have another row again. For the most part, they usually got along fairly well, while tossing in a bit of flirtatious words in their everyday conversation when no one was really around. If it was up to the male though, they would consistantly do that publicly. Maybe then the entire arranged marriage thing that Daphne found herself with that daft Vaisey kid would be broken rather easily. It wasn't that she truly wanted any of that to go through. "Don't deny to yourself that you missed me, love."

He felt as though he had searched throughly for Daphne, despite the fact that she stated that there was a chance that he might not have. "Right. Even though I've searched the common room a few times, asked numberous younger slytherin girls to search your side of the dorms, and all of the places that we spend time in," he stopped talking for a moment, pursing his lips as well and kept his gaze upon her without moving much. "And I haven't looked hard enough?" It was just a simple question basically letting Daphne know that he had indeed searched for her. Of course, it was more out of the fact that he had missed her.

As the conversation turned about the book within her hands, Blaise lifted an eyebrow. Something about the word fascinating that rolled off her tongue made the male think differently for just a moment. It took him a bit to shake the negative thoughts from his mind. He couldn't understand though how Daphne would honestly think that something about muggles would actually be interesting. Of course, Blaise had said the word just a few seconds ago, but he didn't exactly mean it. She had made herself look so intensely at the pages that was the word that popped into his mind. "Well, why don't you just use the word animal? It does fit them nicely," he spoke in a calm manner.

Within those few words, Blaise had managed to reach across towards the book and close it shut in almost a random sort of way. It didn't take him too much longer to slide it away from their vicinity, all in one swift movement. "No more book," he said, leaning in towards Daphne's neck and placed a few kisses upon the soft skin of her neck. Hopefully that would be considered an apology without speaking such words. And after all, the small action was something he had wanted do accomplish since she had caught his eye walking into the common room.

"Using the word animal would be insulting to actual animals. Creatures has a certain vulgarity to it." Biting her tongue, she glanced down at the book in her hand. Daphne was so torn about how she felt about muggles. They couldn't be as bad as the Ministry was making them out to be, right? Furthermore, why did she care so bloody much about them? Shaking her head, she pushed thoughts about muggles out of her head. She doesn't care. Not a single bit, at all. Muggles should just stick what they know... airplanes, and computers, and whatever other menial devices they created. Wizards and witches should stick to what they know and leave them well enough alone. Too much time and effort was placed into the muggles, that it was actually becoming counter productive. Honestly, the Wizarding World has gotten along perfectly well without meddling in the muggle world, why start now?

A venomous glare was given to Blaise as he plucked the book out of her hands. That's when she noticed exactly how close he was getting towards her. The glare instantly melted away as she felt his lips press against her neck. Eyes instantly flashed, and darted desperately around the common room to make sure no one was spying on them. The last thing she wanted spread around the school was that she was seen snogging someone.

Daphne could never deny that there was some sort of attraction to Blaise. While she was perfectly content with the way their relationship was, it was mainly because Daphne wasn't really girlfriend material. She had a tendency to hold people at arms length, and give them the cold shoulder if she felt they were getting too close. As long as she kept up the facade in her mind that Blaise and her were just friends then she would never push him away. Daphne was a difficult girl to get along with, she wasn't friendly, and she was more content keeping to herself. How she ever made friends in Slytherin was a mystery. While Audrina was a little nicer than her, the two of them could gripe about their housemates without fear of insulting one another. With Blaise? Well, there was always that underlying sexual tension. Daphne knew without a doubt that she was attracted to him, but... again, she knew that the moment she made that move to be closer with him she instantly push him away.

Perhaps the fact that Daphne hadn't made a move towards Blaise was one of the reasons why her parents decided to promise her to Vaisey. After all, they knew more than anyone that Daphne was very good friends with Blaise, and while they would have liked to see her with any good pureblooded male, they noticed that Daphne wasn't with Blaise. They just assumed that Daphne was not interested in him. Of course, that wasn't the only reason. Marrying Daphne off to the Vaisey's united two very powerful names within the Wizarding world.

Giving one more wary glance around the common room, Daphne finally leaned in closer to Blaise. Lips curled into a predatory smirk as those blue eyes rested on Blaise, "You never were a bloke of many words." Lips darted over his very briefly before moving to press against his ear. Brushing against his flesh as she spoke, "Should I take that as an apology?"

Not fully understanding why Daphne had decided to run between names of what to call muggles with him at that moment. He did, however, realize rather quickly that it did seem odd coming from the female. Blaise's facial expression seemed to want to ask a couple of questions to that single sentence, but he wasn't sure where to start. Maybe it was best to let it go and just agree with her. "I suppose that you're correct in your thoughts, love. However, I'm sure that you don't mind insulting a few species of animals, right?" he asked, raising his eyebrows slightly. He was indeed referring to an animal that she had a run in a couple of months back. It really did bother him sometimes when thoughts of the event crossed his mind, which was mostly due to the fact that she allowed a mudblood touch her delicate skin. That was something that he wouldn't understand either, but it was for the best that Blaise didn't make reference to that situation.

As Blaise's lips came in contact with Daphne's fair skin, he knew exactly what was going to go through her mind. The person that he was the closest to for quite a while was predictable at times towards the male. He knew that she was going to glance around the common room instantly the second that he was close to her body. At least the book that was within her hands moments ago had completely disappeared from her mind for the time being. That was what mattered. He also couldn't forget about dancing around the actual wording of apology. It was going good with that thus far.

Even though he had never spoken about any attraction towards the female before him, that wasn't something he denied to himself. Blaise know how he was with relationships. There was a great amount of sexual tension between them at times, which of course he liked when the end result finally arrived; however, there were times that he honestly worried about hurting her. Blaise wasn't exactly boyfriend material. Long-term relationships weren't for him. That was a fact that he had knowledge of for a good while. None of that really mattered though. Daphne wouldn't exactly want to be with him in that sort of way. She never made any inklination towards it either. Besides, Blaise enjoyed exactly what they had and she did as well. Why would any of them want to change that?

As the male's lips followed along Daphne's neck, he felt the urge to move closer towards her body. Her voice came in clear at that point, as a smirk of his own spread across his lips. Blaise wasn't one to speak a whole lot. Words weren't much for him. When he did decide to open his mouth, it usually was the correct words to say. "You know how I am, love," he replied, feeling her lips against his own for a fraction of a second. Just as Daphne's lips pressed against his ear, Blaise allowed his hand to follow up slightly upon her nearest thigh, lips pressed against her shoulder lightly. "Only if you accept." As long as he didn't have to utter the words of apology, that was what he wanted. It almost seemed as though as he'd recieve exactly what he wanted.

"Animals themselves are vile. I hate animals," Shuddering, she shot Blaise a brief glare as he mentioned the squid incident. That traumatizing, scarring incident left Daphne with a heated vendetta against that creature in the water. Daphne wasn't a big fan of animals in general, she could hardly tolerate the owl her parents got her. At least Marius - the owl Blaise got her - was quiet, and didn't try to bite her whenever she placed a letter on his talons. Animals were just not her forte, and when that squid attacked her, it just justified her bias. Sure, people thought that Daphne instigated that beast, but she didn't, and the fact that a mudblood like Dean Thomas actually believed her spoke levels on the girl. While it was useful to have allies in high places, it also helped to have allies in the lower levels as well. At the time, Daphne didn't think much about Dean helping her out of the clutches of that squid. It did spark a unique interaction between the two, especially since Daphne found some sort of respect for him... and actually enjoyed mocking him - especially since Dean took it all in stride.

Daphne did know that Blaise was not a man of words, however, that did not stop her from needing to hear the actual words come out of his mouth. Feeling his lips against her shoulder, a hand ran down the side of his cheek, and laced into shirt before forcefully pushing him away from her body. "That's not good enough."

Rejection. It was the harshest of realities in the world.

Reaching for her book, she pulled it back into her lap, and opened up to where she was reading before. If Daphne knew Blaise, she knew he wouldn't give up so easily, especially when it came to her. He would also be able to notice that this was all an act to get what she wanted. Call it immature, but Daphne was used to getting what she wanted, and making sure she got exactly that. She wasn't going to let Blaise snog his way out of this one, especially since he left her smoldering with anger for the past few days. She wanted to hear the words right out of his mouth.

S-O-R-R-Y; five simple letters, two syllables. She knew how hard it was for him to admit he was wrong, but Daphne wouldn't be happy until she heard that word, or a variation (that better start with an A and end with a Y or E.) Blue eyes focused on the page spread out on her lap, and just waited to hear him say the word... or do something.

"I know you do," he replied seconds later, knowing fully well about Daphne's dislike for animals, even though he didn't exactly now what fueled that sort of feeling for beasts. Blaise just knew that the squid situation did solidify that emotion. As long as she did enjoy the owl that he had given her for a gift, that was all that mattered. It wasn't as though she complied about Marius, so he could only assume that the bird was being quite good. The male had never actually met someone that disliked all sorts of animals. There was always someone that liked an average dog for a pet or house elf, but she didn't seem to like any sort of animal. It wasn't a big deal though. That fact only precured that she wouldn't be an old woman with massive amount of felines crowding around her feet, which would be good for anyone the more that Blaise thought about it.

As the seconds had passed slowly by along with his lips upon Daphne's fair skin, Blaise had an inkling that everything was just fine between them. The words that would be verbally spoken as an apology wouldn't have to come out from his mouth. It always felt good to get his way in a whole lot of different situation. There were times where he thought luck was greatly on his side during some of the outcomes, especially when it came to women and a few needs.

Or at least, that's what the male thought for a short amount of time.

It wasn't too much longer that Blaise felt himself being pushed forcefully away from the female's body, her fingers unlacing from his shirt in a matter of seconds again. The words that came from Daphne's lips made him want to let out an aggrivated, defeated sigh. However, he did managed to keep them within him. Not a sound came from him from that act, at least not yet. A calm sort of expression clouded over his face, while he tilted his head once again and kept his gaze upon her. A part of him wondered if her actions were serious. That was answered almost immediantly as the book appeared open within her lap once again.

Just as quick as the book had opened, Blaise reached over and closed it shut once again. If there was something that he truly couldn't stand it was muggles. Worse so, now his best friend had been reading about them. He couldn't help about the way he felt about non-magical folks, which included muggleborn in his mind. That was how he was taught thoughout his younger years. Whatever Daphne's facination about reading a novel about the animals, he wasn't sure what it was, but it was thoughts he wanted to literally pull out of her mind. "Come on, love. You know I didn't mean to react in that sort of way," he finally spoke, letting a few seconds pass after the book's pages had all touched each other fully once again. Great. Those few words almost sounded as if he were begging. Blaise Zabini never begs. However, he rather let an apology flow from his mouth then show a weakness like begging shine though.

Placing hand on the floor behind Daphne, he proped himself up and leaned over towards the female once again, keeping his gaze upon her. He was almost certain that she wouldn't let things go without an apology. "Don't deny that you found yourself missing me, so don't push me away, love."

Daphne couldn't exactly explain why she hated animals. They just... weren't her cup of tea. They were dirty, smelly, and usually carried disease. Most of her interactions with animals ended up with her covered in muck, or with a missing glove, or hat, or dirty. On top of that, they just smelled disgusting. Daphne was the type of girl who kept herself pristine, clean, and crisp. Animals were not clean, and their living conditions most of the time were vile. She only passed Care of Magical Creatures with an Acceptable. Not her best work, but it was passing. Enough to make her father and mother happy. Sure, some people loved pets. Dogs, cats, even ruddy birds - Daphne wasn't that type of girl. Then again, she wasn't a typical girl, she didn't enjoy gossip, she hated most of her housemates, and she was far more content sitting quietly with a book than out socializing. She craved a quiet life in the countryside without the din of animals to spoil it.

As the book was closed once more, Daphne clenched her jaw in frustration. There was a certain flicker of anger in that blue gaze as she stared at the cover of the book. However, that all began to melt away when she actually heard the desperation in his voice. Was he on the verge of begging? The corner of her lips twitched slightly as she tried to resist the urge to smirk. Gaze lifted from the book as he placed his hand on the floor behind her, inching his way closer to her body.

Finally, Daphne could no longer hide her smirk, head dipped slightly just to brush her cheek against his. Leaning forward, fingers lifted to trace a feather light touch against his jaw. "Of course I have missed you, love." Her voice was a gentle whisper against his ear, practically purring towards him. The last time she used that exact tone with him was the night of the Yule Ball, when she wanted to show him how wrong he was for taking Tracey Davis to the Yule Ball and not her.

Blaise should feel honored, Daphne didn't just seduce anyone. Blaise was the few of the lucky ones that was on her good side, and usually saw a side of Daphne that not many did. A side that not even Astoria, nor Adurina got to see. Daphne wasn't really the compassionate type, nor really one to show affection, especially out in the open like this. There was no doubt that if someone were to come into the common room right at that moment, she would likely push Blaise away and pretend to read once more. It was a matter of pride and not appearing vulnerable.

Pressing her hand to his cheek, her lips pressed against his ear, lips brushing his flesh as she spoke, "I only want to hear one simple word, love. Give me what I want, and I'll give you what you want." Teeth grazed over his earlobe, as a predatory smirk curled on her lips. If there was one thing Daphne was very good at, it was getting what she wanted.

Blaise didn't understand the reason why he had a difficult time speaking of an apology towards another. It had always been that way to the point that even Daphne knew that fact. That's what made everything so entertaining towards her, at least that's what he thought. The entire situation was amusing though. Heck, anytime with the female had been just that. He just knew that he wasn't going to get out without saying that he was sorry for reacting in such a way. As much as Blaise had usually gotten his way during something or another, she got her way all of the time. It was just like the time after the Yule Ball had completed for the evening. Blaise didn't have any intention or thought about their private moment with each other. That was all the females choice. He was just not going to deny a beautiful woman during that situation.

It was quite obvious that she had heard the tone of his voice on the verge of begging. That wasn't something that he had planned coming into the conversation, basically kicking himself that Daphne's ears picked up that rather easily. With a calm sort of look on his facial expression, he didn't change it, despite the fact that that it was clear that she was resisting the urge to smirk. If he could take back that tone at that moment, no matter what she had running through her mind at that point, Blaise would have. If he disliked anything more then mudbloods and muggleborns, it was showing signs of weakness. Any form of begging clearly was just that within his eyes.

He saw the sudden change of expression come over Daphne's face, which made him raise his eyebrows slightly. That wasn't something that he expected or the voice that the woman decided to use. It was a tone of voice that he hadn't heard in a long amount of time, but a memory of enjoyment came flicking back into his thoughts rather easily. She was good at getting what she wanted, which that was clearly a good example. "You know that I missed you too, love. Quite a bit actually. Not to mention everything about you," he replied, feeling a smirk already spread across his expression slowly that he couldn't exactly help but not hide. That really was shown basically because of the images that had popped into his mind. If she really wanted to right on the common room ground, the male would have no objections whatsoever.

However, Blaise knew Daphne. He knew her fairly well. The second that someone venture into the common room, he would be easily pushed to the side. Even though the male enjoyed their relationship the way it was, it did make a guy aggrivated to feel so close to that sort of pleasure to only be shoved back.

Feeling the woman's hand upon his cheek, Blaise couldn't help but lean his head in that direction. There were quite a bit of times that he yearned for her a great deal, despite the fact that he had been with quite a few women. Daphne was one that he always returned to time and time again. There was something special about her and it was in the way she made him feel. It really was a shame that a beautiful woman had to be in an arranged married with a Vaisey no less. He knew his family line was better, despite the fact that his mum ran around with a her knickers in a twist looking for a new husband every so often. It really wasn't an easy task to get him to bend to a request that involved an apology, but there were far worse things in the world. Placing his hand on Daphne's cheek, Blaise gazed directly into her eyes, staring for a few seconds. "My apologizes for acting in such a way," he said, finally saying the words that she was clearly looking for the moment that he arrived in the common room in a whisper that was just loud enough for her to hear. It didn't take him much longer afterwards to take what he wanted, which was pressing his lips upon her own.

"I did feel absolutely horrid about mother and father forcing me to go back to Hogwarts before we had a chance to meet up in Greece." That was the truth, and Daphne just smiled trailing her lips against his defined cheekbone. Daphne couldn't explain it, but she always felt more comfortable around Blaise. Perhaps it was the way their relationship was built. He was the only boy she allowed herself to loosen up around. She didn't care about what he thought about her, because she knew that he practically worshiped her. She didn't censor herself around him, and she most certainly did not have to worry about being hurt by him. Sure, the occasional disagreement occurred, but that was expected between friends, right?

Such a bright smile curled on her lips as Blaise finally spoke an apology. Lips pressed firmly against his own, as she knew that he deserved the best snogging in the world for what he just did. Daphne was a selfish girl, and when she had her heart set on something, she would go to any means to get it. Even if it meant putting another person through a situation they weren't comfortable with - in this case, it meant having Blaise say he was sorry. However, like any good bargainer, Daphne kept up her side of the deal. Fingers slid from the side of his cheek to trace over the collar of his shirt before lacing into his tie and pulling him closer against her.

There was a passion behind that kiss that couldn't be described. Was it desperation? She craved to feel alive, and the only time she could actually feel such powerful emotions was around Blaise. It drove her crazy that this boy could hold such a thing over her head like that, though, Daphne didn't really help her situation. She kept the world at arms length, and she even made sure to keep Blaise at the friendship length. Daphne felt safer at that sort of level, she felt neither of them could be hurt.

The girl was just about to deepen the kiss when an audible CLICK echoed through the common room. The sound was obvious, as the entrance door to the common room slowly inched open. Eyes shot open, as Daphne's lips quickly pulled away from Blaise's. Flashing a glare towards the intruder, a terrified second year just stood there with his jaw slack. Perhaps it was the glare that froze him in place, or the fact that he just walked in on two seventh years snogging, whatever it was he regained his composure, made a pitiful apology for interrupting, and ran up to the dormitories.

Just like that the mood was gone.

Fingers began to unlace from Blaise's tie, her hand running over his collar to straighten it back down from where she grasped it.

"I should... um, go get ready for dinner." She said quietly, looking up apologetically at Blaise.

Blaise nodded his head lightly towards Daphne's words about Greece. That was something that he was clearly looking forward to. The events that occurred to have students scurring back towards Hogwarts wasn't the female's fault. He knew that despite his reaction towards the news that she had returned without him. It was obvious what the two very close friends were going to do for new years, but even if they hadn't gotten that far on that particular day, Blaise would have been happy merely because he spent the day with someone that meant a lot to him. Instead, the male ended up stuffed away in the mansion with only the house elves. Last minute plans never went through for a big day of the sort. That was something that everyone knew. It wasn't that bad luck that seemingly crept up on everyone from time to time. "There's plenty of time for us to be alone. I'll make sure of it. No reason to feel horrid any longer," he responded, keeping his gaze upon her.

With a smirk wanting to show itself on the corner of his lips, Blaise resisted the urge to let that appear. He felt her lips press against his own, letting his hand be placed upon the side of her body. There were times that he honestly worked fast in situations of the sort. It all depended on the woman that he was with at that precise moment; however, he knew whatever he had on his mind to do with Daphne, she would be perfectly fine with it. The male just had to make sure that they weren't going to be interrupted during whatever thought went through his mind. All he just hoped was that she wouldn't tell a single soul that he actually apologized for his actions earlier. He even used the words. Not a lot of people heard a true, sincere apology come from his mouth. If they did, it was mostly in a sarastic sort of way. The one spoken that moment was a real one. No doubt about it.

As her hand wrapped around Blaise's tie, he felt the pulling motion towards Daphne, which he automatically obeyed. The male leaned closer and allowed his hand slide along the side of her body, making it's way towards her back. Blaise knew if they had it their way, there could be a chance they might have followed through right in the common room, even though there was a chance that they could be caught rather easily. The way he felt at that moment, yearning for the female, he didn't exactly think that far ahead. At least, not yet to be honest. He also felt the passion and wished to continue doing just that, if only he had his way.

The audiable clicking sound that echoed through the common room wasn't heard immediately, despite it being obvious Blaise didn't exactly hear it. He didn't exactly notice that someone else was in the room until Daphne had pulled away from him, feeling his lips almost out in mid-air during a mid-kiss. Well, wasn't that a sight. The male opened his eyes and placed his gaze on the woman's looking in the direction her own eyes were set upon. Eyes set in a glare as well upon the second year, who scampered up the boy's side of the house. With a sigh exiting his lips, the mood was clearly ruinned. More on her side then his own, but he respected Daphne. Blaise wasn't a guy that forced any woman to continue if they didn't want to.

"Must you?" he asked, placing his gaze upon Daphne's once again as he felt her smooth out his collar.
