Draco's directions were perfectly clear, and Marcus found himself approaching the door of a rather charming cottage in the country, bordered on one side by a rambling river. It was quite a lovely place, if one was looking for solitude, and somehow Marcus was not expecting it to look so...homey.

Charlie arrived at Malfoy Manor as close to 9 AM as possible. Mircea was with him; while he didn't expect to be jumped at the Manor, he didn't want to be without a guard while he was carrying the pensieve bottle with the memories that someone had given to Warrington. Mircea was the best guard in the world, and so he'd brought the dog to Malfoy Manor. Now he was waiting in some sort of parlour for the house-elf to fetch Lucius and Draco, one of whom, presumably, would fetch the pensieve. |

Everything seemed to be going remarkably well. Penelope, with a bit of help from Cho and the internet, had managed to acquire a Fifth Doctor costume for Gus and one of his companion's Nyssa for herself. The hardest part had been blindfolding Gus so she could change into her costume and help him change into his. He'd been confused and suspicious when she finished, but all she would say was that it was a surprise before apparating them into Adrian's neighborhood. It was quarter to eight when she'd led a blindfolded Gus up the stairs to Adrian's townhouse and rung the bell. Most everyone was already there and when they yelled surprise, Penelope pulled off Gus' blindfold and kissed him on the cheek.
"Happy Birthday, Doctor," she whispered in his ear.

Fleur arrived at Dungate House at the appointed hour to meet Draco. She'd put on her nicest professional robes, retrieved carefully from Shell Cottage. She'd done some tailoring on them last night to make sure they met the latest Paris fashions as described by her mother. Fleur might be a stay-at-home mother and a schoolteacher, but that didn't mean she had to look sloppy in public. It had been many years since she had attended meetings in Dungate House to plan the rebuilding of Hogwarts, but she remembered them well and it wouldn't do well to look anything less than her best.
As she was escorted through the building to the room where she would meet Draco, Fleur was aware of the eyes on her, the men watching her. It had been so long since she'd been out in public on a professional basis like this. With the loss of the boat, she would have to take on a job outside the home, it seemed. Perhaps this meeting was the first step. If she had to prove herself all over again, she could do that.
When she arrived where Draco was sitting, she offered her hand politely. "Bonjour, Monsieur Malfoy." |

What: Convening the summoning coven of the Wizengamot
When: Tuesday night, 7 July, after dark
Where: Arbor Low, Derbyshire.
Notes: The summoning coven convened on 7 July; the rest of the members were credentialed over the subsequent days, and the Wizengamot will announce the new Minister on Monday 20 July.
The company of wizards and witches had gathered at Arbor Low after sundown with all of the required props and components for the ritual they were about to perform. For all that it was a place known to Muggles, they'd set up a Muggle-repelling spell around the borders of the the area. The owner would refuse anyone wanting to come through at this late hour anyhow, and the spells would ensure that the owner didn't investigate any strange noises.

Having brought Hermione back to his cottage for another lesson, Draco pulled his wand out of the light jacket he wore and placed it on the table. "I'm glad you came back," he said, walking into the kitchen and pulling out a chilled flagon and two glasses. "For a while I wondered if you'd want to come back for more," he added, handing her a glass. "Pumpkin juice?" he chuckled. |

Viktor thought of this day as a test, every bit as consequential as the batteries of written and practical testing at Durmstrang, or the World Cup trial matches. If he was to help wizarding England, he had to be accepted into it -- and not as a Quidditch star. If that could not be managed, he might as well go home, as his sister implored him to; he would do no good here.
The weather had been reasonably cooperative, at least: though the day was overcast and a touch humid, it did not look like rain, and was thankfully not grilling-hot. Every ward and concealment Viktor had in his arsenal he had used on the makeshift pitch and the area around it. When they were gone, curious Muggles would see no more than trampled moor, perhaps a mole-run or a fox-digging where the goalposts were. While they were there, curious Muggles... would go around.
All was in readiness; Viktor permitted himself a moment to breathe, and murmur a short prayer he had learnt in childhood. |

What: Draco is showing off the new place to Gus.
The elf was out of his mind with happiness, and had been since the moment Draco told him they were having a guest for dinner. Never happier than when showing off his skills, he'd been dancing about cooking and cleaning all afternoon.
Draco sat at his desk, trying to write a letter when he looked up, frowning. "Can you please stop with the singing?" he shouted, trying to get back to his work when his eye caught the clock on his desk. One hand pointed to the word "evening" whilst another pointed to the word "stranger".
"Right," he said to himself, standing up and heading toward the front door. Gus should have made it to the grounds now, he thought, as he looked around to see where he'd landed. He hoped this would be an enjoyable evening, as the Healer seemed unfazed about who he was, and who he used to be. |

What: catching up with Daddy
Lucius' schedule hadn't eased up - created a new government wasn't simple business. Draco sat waiting for his father, glancing down once in a while at the menu. The servent witch brought him some cold water, all that he wanted this afternoon as he looked around the room at the others eating. The juxtaposition of some Muggle clothing, mismatched as it was, with all manner of Wizarding garb spoke volumes about the sorts of people who were talking to each other now.
Draco picked up his small journal on the table, and jotted a few more notes inside it. There was no malice in having to wait for his father.
If anything, he wished there were a way he could be more helpful in this venture. |
