Who: Penny & Charlie When: Tuesday, September 15, lunch What: Shashi doesn't join Penny for lunch, Charlie does Where: Starting at Muskaan Restaurant Rating:PG-13/R for language Status:Thread, Completed
Penelope arrived a few minutes before noon at Muskaan on Tuesday as well, dressed in one of her business outfits and not particularly looking forward to this. There was a feeling in th e pit of her stomach that this would be the end of her and Charlie, but she was trying not to dwell on that. She couldn't knowingly put Shashi into a trap when she didn't know what the intended outcome was. If it was just to interrogate him, maybe she'd have let things be, or if it was just to keep an eye on her, she'd reluctantly consent to that. But she was not in the habit of giving out blank checks to people.
She glanced from the menu to her watch, as the hands ticked past. It was now nearly twenty minutes past the hour. She wondered when or if Charlie or someone else would show themselves. |

Letter, 8 September 2009 |
[Sep. 8th, 2009|09:48 am] |
[A very large, gold-trimmed envelope hand-delivered by Juliet's bodyguard to Ministry Annex One. The envelope is closed with the Travers family seal. The letter is warded to Percy, Lucius, and Charlie.]
To: Minister of Magic Percival Weasley, Chief Warlock Lucius Malfoy, Minister of Public Safety Charles Weasley
Gentlewizards,
On behalf of the Travers and Orfanos families, I would like to formally offer Travers Close as the new meeting-place for the Wizengamot, and in doing so, place the property in trust of the Wizarding Government of Great Britain.
Naturally I do not make this offer lightly; it has involved no small amount of soul-searching and discussion with my family. Technically, my children Marina and Stefan are the heirs to the Travers estate—and if it were likely that they (or their issue) would be returning to England, matters might well be different. But it is increasingly clear to all of us that their futures lie elsewhere, and we have concluded that our best service to this country will be in offering our ancestral home as a stable base of operations for its government.
I have enclosed a map of the estate and a floor-plan of the house. You will see that the library, with proper arrangements, will be of more than adequate size to provide a meeting-hall for all members of the Wizengamot.
I am available at your convenience to discuss this matter further if you desire. My solicitors are drawing up the necessary paperwork and are prepared to meet with Ministry solicitors as needed.
Sincerely, Juliet Travers Orfanos
[Below the signature, the Travers family seal is stamped in charmed wax. The enclosed maps and plans are charmed so that the reader can tap on a room or area and get a more detailed overhead view of that space.] |

Who:Penny & Charlie When: Sunday Evening, 30 Aug Where: The Lion's Head, Godric's Hollow What: Penelope & Charlie get together to chat about things and try to keep work out of it. Status:Log, Completed Warnings: PG-13 for kissing / innuendo
The pub in Godric's Hollow had been Charlie's suggestion when Penny had asked him about a wizarding pub. They weren't planning to discuss work but at least this way magic could be discussed freely. Penny hoped it might put Charlie a bit more at ease than a muggle pub. She arrived smelling faintly of whisky and cigarettes due to her Sunday afternoon ritual and a tad nervous about the matter she wanted to discuss, but Gus was right, she had to be direct. Direct over drinks was just easier. Grabbing a booth in the corner, she ordered two beers and sat down to wait for Charlie. |

Beach bumming. |
[Aug. 20th, 2009|05:13 pm] |
Who: Charlie Weasley & Penny Clearwater (and Mircea) What: A break from work When: Wednesday evening, 20 August Where: A beach near Robin Hood's Bay, Yorkshire Warnings: Charlie still has a mouth on him Status: Closed, incomplete
The beach at Robin Hood's Bay was generally deserted on weekday evenings. It was a bit cool and the clouds threatened rain, which meant there were even fewer people around than usual. Charlie considered this ideal for an evening away from London with Penny. They could talk freely if they wanted, and nobody was going to tell him to put Mircea on a leash. And if the rain did start, they'd head up to the town on the cliffside for dinner.
Charlie scrutinised the clouds for a moment, then turned to Penny. "Looks like we have some time before it does anything more than drizzle. I don't even see it doing that for a while." |

So here's the thing... |
[Aug. 17th, 2009|01:37 pm] |
Who: Minerva McGonagall and Charlie Weasley What: Charlie catches up Minerva on current events. When: Monday afternoon, 17 August 2009 Where: The Lion's Head, Godric's Hollow Warnings: Charlie's mouth, but rather less of it than usual. Status: Complete
The Lion's Head was one of those storybook English country pubs, owned and managed by the umpteenth generation of landlords since time immemorial, with the village gaffer holding up his end of the bar and local bitter on tap. It was sufficiently old-fashioned enough to also be a functioning inn, and in one of the few remaining towns where wizarding folk could move freely, it had seen more than its fair share of custom in the last year and a half.
Minerva McGonagall was fairly certain that the landlords were charging her the merest fraction of their usual rates; she had attempted to argue, but they wouldn't hear of it. They'd insisted as well on giving her one of their best rooms, a suite on the second floor that actually had a tiny receiving room as well as a bedroom, and it was in that receiving room that she waited for Charlie Weasley with a mixture of pleasure and deep trepidation. |

All work and no play |
[Aug. 15th, 2009|02:27 pm] |
Who: Penelope & Charlie When:Saturday, 15 August Where: Penny's flat, Beckton What: Catching up and taking a break from work Rating: PG13 for a kiss at the end Status:Completely
Since hearing the news from Adrian and Lucius, Penelope hadn't gotten much sleep, choosing instead to throw herself into her work, preparing everything she could so that as soon as she got the testimonies completed and compiled, they'd be ready to move. She was currently settled on the bed with her laptop while every free inch of the bed, table and chairs was covered with papers - procedures for human rights violations, newspaper articles of previous similar cases, and the like.
Hearing the doorbell ring, she set aside her cold mug of tea and navigated the jungle of papers to the door and the down the stairs to answer the door.
"Hey," she said with a smile, opening the door so Charlie could come inside and greeting him with a kiss. She looked a bit dissheveled but not that much worse for the wear. "How are you doing?" |
