Dearest,
As expected, we ran across your cousin on her sea-voyage and she came home with us. Surprisingly, she brought a friend. We spent part of last night in Snowdonia.
Everyone's well here, including D., who came on an unannounced visit from abroad.
Look for more news from us soon.

Rescue action is underway in the North Sea after HMS Seeker, a patrol and research vessel, went down in high seas in the early hours of Saturday morning. The Admiralty reports the Seeker was carrying scientific equipment and supplies to a North Sea research station when she sank. No survivors have been picked up so far from her crew of 50. Continued rain and winds have impeded the rescue efforts.

Who: Hermione (Granger) Weasley & Christopher Warrington What: A bit of gratitude When: Saturday, May 2 - mid-morning Where: Eryri Ysbyty (Snowdonia Hospital) Rating: PG-ish
Chris walked down the hall toward Astoria's room, a few things that he thought she might like to eat held on a tray along with a glass of juice and some ice chips in a separate cup, when he caught sight of a vaguely familiar head of dark hair. He paused, considered his options, and then called, "Granger!" |

A chance encounter |
[May. 3rd, 2009|11:40 am] |
Who: Hermione Granger Weasley and Draco Malfoy When: mid-morning, 2 May Where: hospital at Eryri Ysbyty What: Running into each other
Most of the rescuers who hadn't been gravely injured had left, but Draco's bullet wound wasn't healing as well as it should be. He tried explaining to the ancient Healer working on him that he'd had problems like this before, that he didn't heal quickly, but the old man seemed determined that his spells should work and it must be Draco's fault he couldn't stop bleeding.
At least it didn't hurt anymore. Holding the poultice close to his wound, Draco looked up at the ceiling of the hospital room. He was alone, for the first time in many hours and felt the weight of all that happened that morning slipping off his shoulders. All he wanted to do now was go back to the Manor house, crawl into his comfortable bed, and sleep for a few days.
He crept into the hall, wondering if he couldn't just leave when he saw her. At least, it looked like her, but it had been a while and the Granger he remembered didn't seem the Healer type. |

Who: Fr. Phillip Hughes, SJ & Adrian Pucey When: Sunday, 3 May 2009, before the 9:30 mass Where:Church of the Immaculate Conception, Mayfair, London - reconciliation room What:Phillip is on Confessional duty and Adrian is in need of absolution
Phillip sat in the chair behind the screen, dressed in his cassock and wearing a purple stole. After Vatican II, the Jesuits had decided to embrace the liturgical reforms. Confession was no longer limited to a small box with a screen, instead, there was now a reconciliation room. When you entered, there was the kneeler in front of the screen, behind which a priest sat, but there was also a second chair - in case one wished to confess in a casual face to face manner.
Confession was, for Phillip, one of the church's most beautiful sacraments. However, after last week's conversation with Sam, there was much on Phillip's mind as he read and reread his prayer book to keep himself focused as a minister of the church. Hearing the door open, he cleared his mind of all thoughts and turned his attention on the penitent. |

Who:Hermione Granger and Neville Longbottom What: Neville needs information. Where: A 40 Western Avenue, London When: May 3, 2009 Rating: Low
He was waiting in one of the empty houses that he'd secured long before for such an eventuality. There were places in the city that had not been claimed by either Order or Ministry as "safe" - Neville'd taken this one as something in-between. He gave Hermione a wave from the window, then returned to his journal, quickly writing and turning its pages to keep up with the events of the day. Overhead, his owl hooted softly, hinting at work to be done as she perched on a crumbling ledge, a faint shower of wood shavings trickling down from overhead. |

Who:Neville Longbottom and Seren Fawcett-Finnegan What: Neville was sent to dig up information on what happened. He's going to try and do just that. Where: Eryri Ysbyty When: May 3, 2009 Rating: TBD, probably low
Neville was a common enough sight in the corridors of the hospital for his presence there to go unnoticed. He had stopped in to give his mother a quick hello but now, curiosity and duty led him through the halls to see if he could find out anything more about what had occurred. Given enough time, he thought, he was likely to run into a healer who might mention something or overhear whispers.
And so, he found a quiet corner, fixing his eyes on an old painting that hung there. It was a landscape for now, the inhabitants all having been drawn to another canvas, it seemed. He wondered to himself whether that itself was something that he should note. |
