War Is Coming Communications.

If anyone tried to use the kitchen today and found it full of food being baked or cooked or prepared, I'm sorry, that was me! I just read that a lot of you were hungry and I decided to make enough food to go around. There's a lot on the counter now, feel free to help yourselves!

Also, if anyone wants or needs to talk - about anything - I'm always willing to lend an ear and help in any way I can, of course.

Is everything alright? Do you need anything?

[OOC: if it looks like Famine and acts like Famine, it probably is! Beru will be spending the next couple of days shoving her nurturing maternal instincts at everyone, more than likely, since all she REALLY wants is to be able to take care of people's problems and make things right. Which is... maybe the most harmless manifestation ever, but. You never know what will happen!]

I know I mostly stay beneath everyone else's radar as the quiet, shy, kitchen girl but that's because I'm so terribly incapacitated with fear most of the time. I'm just so afraid, of everything that's happening in this strange place, with this strange weather...

And more than anything, I'm afraid of what happens in the future of my own home. And afraid of not having any of this knowledge when (or even if...) we get sent back so I can just... do something to keep any of it from happening.

I'm supposed to be able to take what's given to me and make it work no matter how meager or unhelpful it is, but I can't do it this time.

I've been having dreams, almost every night, that I lose the babies. They scare me. I don't remember ever being that scared before.

If anyone's grown sick of some of the foods here and wants a nearly-familiar meal (or just wants to try something new, if they are from here!), I've discovered that adding certain spices and flavors to some of this planet's native meats is a good way to closely replicate some of the meats from our own galaxy. And I'm more than willing to cook, it's something productive to do.

Also, I've found that dried peaches are kind of similar to pallies. They're not identical, but they may be the best we've got for now.

Nobody worry about the small explosion in the community kitchen just now. We are not being invaded or sucked into another alternate reality or turned into mannequins or anything awful. That was just, um, soup. Or, rather, it was supposed to be soup, it started to be soup, and then... something happened. But everything's fine and only one of the microwaves was hurt and it will be replaced this time tomorrow. Also, everything is coming off the ceiling very nicely. So, yes, all is well aside from the ongoing apocalypse. And the fact that I am now determined to win at cooking even if I die in the attempt. Well, if they didn't want me destructively bored my parents shouldn't have grounded me.

Back home we used to have hot chocolate and watch the news in the evenings, part of my education you always said, and I know the news isn't the same here, not our news but I thought you might like to pick that up? I understand if you're busy but it's a thought. Anyone else could come too.

Hey, you're the family mechanical genius right? Would you mind taking a look at the microwave? I have enough money to buy a new one but I feel like if I can get this one fixed I should do that too.
