[Filtered to any man who has successfully wooed a woman... except Lucifer. Who probably has managed that at least once BUT WE ARE NOT ASKING FOR HIS ADVICE, OKAY?!]

I am taking my girlfriend out on our first official, proper date.

It has to be good. And I mean actually good.

I'm from Dublin, and lived in the UK. To us a proper date is a pack of Doritos and a pint down the pub. I'm figuring I need to be far more impressive.

Someone give me some advice here, how do I take her on a date worthy of how amazing she is?

	I'm relatively certain the makers of the symbolism of flowers hadn't considered that. Perhaps light pink? Or coral if you wish? Or another flower entirely and she may give you credit for creativity. 	They should really consider these sorts of things. Okay, definitely not yellow. We are no where near the friendzone. That link is amazing. I could go for mixed flowers. Maybe coral roses with white carnations. The whole passion, love and faithfulness thing. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	You don't exist! To them, anyway. I've learned what a terrible thing the friendzone can be. Stay away from it. Now you're thinking! Be creative. Play with it. 	That's not the point! I have been friendzoned before. I was then grabbed out of it and that was just confusing as hell. I like the zone I'm in with Lydia. It's a good zone. You are quite possibly my hero, thanks. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

I don't expect I have, really. But then, I was never interested before now. My girlfriend was, though--the lovely internet has even made their creations about it quite obvious. If you're content where you are, take it and keep it.

I'd hardly say that, you've put in most of the effort. Just remember to be yourself and enjoy spending time with her. That's the most important part.

	That's being very reasonable! It's entirely possible that you were the one doing the friendzoning. And I avoid the internet as much as possible, outside these boards. There are fandvids about me, I don't approve. But I wouldn't have known where to look if you hadn't helped. I always enjoy spending time with her, she's amazing. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Oh, I sincerely doubt that. I rarely spent enough quality time with anyone to grow close enough for that until I got here. Thenthere was only ever Eponine. It just took us both a bit to work that out. The internet is a terrifying place. I believe I have been "shipped" with everyone I've ever met.

Well then I'm glad to have helped and I hope the two of you have a wonderful time. Remember, it isn't just impressing her but also enjoying your time together.

	Impressive skill. Busy sort before you came here? Sounds pretty romantic though, her being the one for you and all that. Internet 'shippers' are terrifying. Really really terrifying. I made the mistake of reading a discussion once and never ever again. Whenever I'm with her, I feel like a better man. I want to make sure I treat her right, make her feel properly special.
