I am taking my girlfriend out on our first official, proper date.

It has to be good. And I mean actually good.

I'm from Dublin, and lived in the UK. To us a proper date is a pack of Doritos and a pint down the pub. I'm figuring I need to be far more impressive.

Someone give me some advice here, how do I take her on a date worthy of how amazing she is?

So, I'm very bored. And right now I'm enjoying this holiday from working as a copper, but I suppose I'll need to find steady employment soon because I think I'll be here a while. Any suggestions for an older male who desperately doesn't want to go back to his old profession?

Has John spoken to you yet? He hasn't really been talking to me lately, and I've been wondering if he's been avoiding both of us or just me. And I suppose if you feel up to it or even want to socialize with me outside of the boards you're more then welcome to join me for a pint sometime. Or something else if you don't like alcohol. Do you even drink alcohol? I've never asked. I suppose I should try and make an effort to get to know you outside of a work capacity.

I have started to get accustomed to this time and place, and while I am still working things out I do not like being idle. I have attended some of the classes and they are fascinating, but I would like to try and find employment somewhere. Are there any suggestions for someone who is still getting used to this time and place? I do not want to bring undue attention to myself.

It looks as though there's something coming up in about three months for amateur boxers in Kansas City. It's a tournament more than anything else, from the looks of it, but there is prize money for the winner of each weight class. Think I might have a shot at doing decently with enough training?

Something I have not mentioned as I did not know the way it would turn out was that there were talent agents from New York within the audience last weekend trying to sign me. Most were quite insistent and tried to use the happenings of Lawrence as motivation for leaving. One though seemed to understand that there was much here I had to contend with and said I was on reserve, so once things were settled I could relocate and for now she would help me with shows in the area.

I really don't know how to handle all of this. But still, thank you for your support and friendship, it really did make it possible.

I miss us working as a team.
I miss solving cases with you.
I miss our partnership very much.

I am frightfully bored, and there are no cases that the chief of police needs my help on. I have attended almost all of the classes that have been offered, even the ones that sounded rather pedestrian, but I am reaching the end of my rope. I need a distraction. Do you think there is anyone here who can provide one? I do not wish to keep you too busy to live your own life.

Ah the fall term. And with the Fall semester comes my class on Tudor History. There are still spots left if you feel like taking the class.
