One thing that has not changed in a thousand years is some men thinking they can grab at a woman like she's a piece of meat. Just because I am blonde does not mean I am (a) an idiot or (b) some kind of harlot. What happened to the idea of respect?

	I'm not human, so my slaps would probably have knocked his head clean off his shoulders. But I do have an ability called compulsion, which is sort of like hypnosis. It did take me a while to figure out how to drink the blood without killing them. And yeah, sometimes people piss me off, so again, reasons. But I don't think of myself as a bad person. I just do what I need to do to survive and protect my family.

We didn't know what our parents were doing. Our mother was a witch, she and our father tricked us. We never asked for any of it.

	It has had its perks. Immortality, incredible strength, powers. But also, running from people who want us dead. Including our parents who decided that maybe making their children require drinking blood wasn't such a good idea after all. Basically, our parents were batshit insane.
