Well, that was the second worst ten-day span of my life, thank you very much. The cats were certainly happy to see me again, so at least there's that (my thanks to to those who were able to care for them in my absence).

This whole experience has done nothing do much as make me even more curious of the magic in this place. I'd like to conduct interviews with anyone willing to discuss their magic with me; I've the most interest in magic regarding leylines or foresight, though I'm happy enough to talk any other sorts as well.

I'd be very interested in a symposium of some sort. There's very little public research being done into magic in my own world -- all the really innovative stuff I've found, I've found in private journals. And so getting a group of magicians together to discuss magic in a scholarly kind of way seems unlikely at home, but I can think of nothing that I'd like more.

You're the second person to mention coming into their foresight at fifteen. It seems a popular age. Do you have magic outside of it?

The Geliara coven is holding one soon. You might want to see if you can get an invite to it.

I think it's a thing for a lot of people. But I've had magic since birth. Though a lot of it was unlocked after I turned sixteen.

I would be very interested in that. How might one obtain an invitation? I've not yet made any very many connections with the native covens.

So your magic was held in escrow until you reached sixteen? Without the third party, I suppose.

One of the shops in town might have some invitations left. Do you frequent any of those that specialize in magical ingredients and things?

Sort of. I think its more that it's not a great idea for a five year old to be able to alter the reality of the world with a thought. Though my biological father liked to make everyone think he was the one who gave them their abilities. But that was a bunch of bs.

I do frequent a bookstore that specializes in magical texts; perhaps I might be able to get one from them.

Does your magic grant you that power? It takes a good deal of studying to be able to cast spells in my world.

It's worth a shot!

My bloodline grants me most of my power. I've been able to cast spells since I was little, but it's supposed to be that the harder the spell, the more skilled you need to be to correctly weild it.

Magic is transferred through bloodlines in my world as well. Three English families signed the last contract when the Fae returned home to keep magic in the mortal realm, and so only descendants of those three families hold magic anymore. How did your father convince everyone that he gave them their abilities?

So your magic is linked to the Fae? Do you have any of your own?

I honestly have no idea. He did it a couple of millennia before I was born and I'm his only direct descendant. In my world at least. There's other versions of him in other worlds and sometimes he has kids in those ones.

He does grant a certain amount of power, but he isn't the only one that others can get their magic from. There's a lot about it that we're still figuring out since everything we thought we knew was a bunch of lies.

It is my own. I had, up until very recently, thought that the fae were only, if you'll excuse the phrase, fairytales. There's hardly anyone anymore who believes the story of the Last Contract was anything more than a myth, and if they did, truly exist, then they haven't been seen in our world for millennia.

Is your father immortal?

So is magic used freely where you are or hidden away?

Probably. So far nothing has managed to kill him. And we've tried.

We generally keep its existence hidden from those that don't come from magical families. And in your world?

I assume you must have had a good reason.

Generally hidden. Though more know about it than I'd ever originally believed.

His sole goal is to capture Earth as his own and bring torture and despair there as well. I like the world how it is.

As far as I know, we do a fairly good job of staying under the radar, and are generally able to clear up any mishaps when they happen. I wouldn't be too terribly surprised if some slipped through the cracks, though.

Ah, yes, then that seems like an exceptionally good reason. I'm sorry you're in that position.

It probably does. Its kind of amazing what people will rationalize away because it doesn't fit in with what they know about the world.

Well, he is the Devil so its kind of expected. Though, the Lucifer here is like the complete opposite which is why I like him 8 billion times more and actually call him dad.
