Well, that was the second worst ten-day span of my life, thank you very much. The cats were certainly happy to see me again, so at least there's that (my thanks to to those who were able to care for them in my absence).

This whole experience has done nothing do much as make me even more curious of the magic in this place. I'd like to conduct interviews with anyone willing to discuss their magic with me; I've the most interest in magic regarding leylines or foresight, though I'm happy enough to talk any other sorts as well.

	Oh boy, let's see. The Sanctum, usually, was built on a convergence of leylines - not so much in Vallo, but. There are multiple Sanctums and all are connected, with Kamar-Taj as the central nexus of the hub. It's the training grounds for the Masters of the Mystic Arts. (Reply to this) (Thread)

It is. It's where I live. I wouldn't say power is drawn from them necessarily, they just correspond with those landmarks - you can feel the mystical energy though, in the walls and the floors. It connects with the mystical energy of other magic users, which is why generally only other magic users can live in the Sanctums though I've admittedly broken that rule once or twice.

	There are buildings in my own world that are heavily seeped in magic; houses that have magical families in them. The longer the land has been in possession of a magical family, the more power the building seems to hold. Do magic uses in your own world draw upon one another's power, then, or is it only the Sanctums which connects with them? (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	That makes sense. Longevity does seem to mean power and there's always a power in endurance too. It depends on the type of magic, but generally those who use magic draw upon the energy of various dimensions of the multiverse to cast. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	I've always imagined that the more magic is done on a land, the more magic there is for it to soak up. So you're able to access other dimensions in your own world? Is that how you ended up here, or were you brought unexpectedly like the rest of us? (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Oh, definitely. Here, the way Vallo works, seems to be a prime example of that - if anyone can really pinpoint how it works. Yes, it's possible. I can access a couple here as well, but nothing that would take me out of Vallo itself. I ended up here the same way as everyone else though, just kind of turned around and - yep. 	Yes, having the entire isle soaking up everyone's magic would certainly explain some of the idiosyncrasies. I could ask why all of England isn't like Vallo, though I'd be being willfully obtuse if I couldn't admit the fact that Vallo has a great deal more magic than home does. It has a lot of magic. And it's not always compatible with Outlander magic either hence the 'quirks.'

The Mirror Dimension, which is parallel to the real world - it's a space meant for practicing particularly complex magic or spells without affecting the real world. Also the Astral Dimension, which is where the soul exists outside of the physical body. They're both different in their own way and I could always show you if you were ever interested.

	I do wish it was possible to take a baseline of how things were before we started arriving; I suppose there must be records somewhere. I heard a little of Astral Projection at the most recent Outlander meeting. I don't know if it's something I should like to try for myself, though the Mirror Dimension may be interesting. 	There are some. You would have liked the trip back to ancient Vallo though, probably. The waypoints were just getting off the ground then and a couple of the covens that existed then don't exist now. Anyone can come with me to the Mirror Dimension - it's very geometric, lots of fractals. I just have to open a portal to it. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	From what I've heard, I doubt very much I would have liked a trip back to ancient Vallo. I've only a very basic understanding of geometry, though I assume that won't matter too terribly much in the grand scheme of things. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	It really wasn't that awful. The scholar in me thought parts were interesting, but. I guess I'm weird. Mm, no, not really. Mostly just makes things interesting to look at, and sometimes the structures can be manipulated and changed depending on how much control a person has of their surroundings. 	Fair enough. In Vallo it's always a matter of working through whatever catastrophe it is, so I was trying to strike a balance between that and nerding out.
