You know, I live a pretty charmed life. My family's awesome, my brother and sister are here and happy, I'm going to be an uncle soonish, my husband is gorgeous and sweet and compassionate, my kitty looks like an alien, and my restaurant is doing phenomenally. So phenomenally that I'm thinking of opening another one stateside.

I'm due on Apr 24 of next year. I'm reading a bunch of baby books now, and seriously, they really seem to make it like everything is going to kill me or something. (And yes, I quit smoking and drinking. Duh.) |

Am I a complete nerd for thinking culinary school is awesome so far? It's hilarious. All the other students are terrified of half the chefs and I'm just all laughing at their faces when they bluster. The man who teaches our class on knife skills yells like a drill sergeant and all I can do is not crack up at the little vein in his forehead that dances like a charmed snake. I've picked off a demon from twenty paces, I can handle a self-important little Swiss man. |
