And here I thought I was going to get to finally have some peace.

Well, this is fun. Except decidedly not. I have an education I'm in the middle of, thank you very much.

Do you want to go to the Thanksgiving dinner with me?

I guess I really thought I'd be back in Mystic Falls by now, not that it change anything.

I think I've met most of you, but for those I haven't met, I'm Alex. Born and raised in Roswell, I spent some time over seas in the Air Force. I came home last year with honorable discharge. I lost part of my right leg in an explosion. Sometimes I use a crutch, especially if I'm going to be on my feet for a while.

Anyway. I'm the one who monitors the portal. I have a system in place that alerts me when there is activity around the portal, so I know when someone comes through. Either myself, Liz, or Sam will usually go out to greet the new arrivals, and get everyone set up at the hotel. If you need anything, you only have to ask and we'll do our best to help you.

The portal is a complete mystery. Full disclosure, we have no idea why it formed or how it's pulling people here. We do know that it's pulling you all from different times and different places, different worlds and different realities. I'm going to be completely open and up front here. I have a file on every one of you. It's basic information. Your name, the date you came through, what room you've been assigned at the hotel, and any other information that seems important. These files are secure and private, though you can request to see your own file, and only your own, at any time.

Here's the thing. We are aware some of you may have special abilities, or special circumstances, and we want to be informed so that we can help you if a time of crisis or need. I know it's not easy to trust someone you don't really know, but I really am trying to help. I can't say when, or if, we'll ever be able to send you home, and if you're stuck here, well. If you have special circumstances, we kind of need to know so that we can help you.

Obviously you can choose not to tell us anything, and try to deal with things on your own, but the more we know the more we can help. I promise you, anything you tell me will remain confidential, but I can't stress enough how important personal information on file can help in times of crisis.
