All cast and crew members were required to be present at sharply 2pm for getting ready for the show beginning at 5pm. The play was meant to last for one hour and thirty minutes, with a ten minute intermission. (Feel free to check out the script for more information!)

It was during the final scene of Act I that DA members MICHAEL CORNER, CELIA BROWN, PADMA PATIL and SUSAN BONES quietly release a series of Howlers from the back of the Great Hall, with them sailing themselves to the stage where they erupted in cascade of noise. They screeched out various reports of rumours of the Carrows acting as Death Eaters, Mulciber's recent stint in Azkaban for being a Death Eater, incidents of bullying from Snape over the years, and mocking the behaviour of the Carrows in the months since they'd taken the reins at Hogwarts. The final (largest) Howler was a series of limericks mocking the Carrows and Snape, and tore itself to pieces in a spray of red paper. They were timed to release so that each one overlapped slightly, as one ended the next one had already begun shouting.

The play came to a halting stop as the Carrows, along with other staff members, were quick to jump into action and put things out, but most of them looked pretty irritated by the whole thing. (Naturally, some were irritated for other reasons.)

When everyone started filing out of the Great Hall, they would find the following graffiti scrawled on many of the walls thanks to GINNY WEASLEY and NEVILLE LONGBOTTOM:

Where is Colin Creevey?
Where is Willa Clearwater?
Where is Justin Finch-Fletchley?
Where is Madison Fleming?
Where is James Henley?

Each of the missing student is mentioned at least once (except for Harry, Ron and Hermione).
