[Current Mood |bored]

There is a young man in the Nexus, underneath the sign. He is dressed cleanly, and wears a feather stick tucked into his belt. He is carrying a toolbox, and a small electronic device. He pauses for a minute as he tries to think up a question. Did you really have to ask a question? Wait, wasn't that a question?

So finally after sighing, he says the most nonsense question he can think of.

"Did you know you can save big money at Menards?"

Some of the residents at [info]elric_apts might recognize the young woman at the sign. Anna, the adopted sister of [info]gatemaster, had made herself comfortable in a fold-out chair, with a large plastic cauldron full of a wide variety of candy.

Twix, Snickers, Hersheys, M&Ms, Jolly Rancher hard candies, the list goes on.

"It's getting to be that time of year again," Anna said, "at least on Earth. Anyone want some Halloween candy?"

-----
(Yes, the candy is LOL-candy. If a character eats it, s/he will become a ghost for a length of time determined by the player, not less than six hours, and not more than four days. During this time, the character will be invisible and intangible, but will be able to speak normally, as s/he will not quite be a "real ghost". The only other characters who will be able to see the ghosted characters are as follows:
1) real ghosts
2) [info]loop_me_in
3) other 'fake ghost' characters
4) psychics - both the mystic kind and the telepath kind.
5) anyone the character is soulbound to, provided the character is soulbound in the first place

Zelgadis is reading a book. Surprisingly, it looks to be a novel, of the 'stupid thriller' sort that you occasionally find in grocery stores. He looks to be on the last couple of pages, which he quickly zips through. "So, what do everyone else do when they don't have that much to do? I'm not accustomed to boredom, and I'm finding I don't like it."

[Current Mood |contemplative]

Fujin had been sitting out by the sign most of the...day? Week? however long she'd been here this time. Weather hadn't seemed to change much, which made hanging out by the sign rather pleasant, but sometimes she wished for a good storm. Storms were loud and chaotic, and somehow comforting.

Looking for something to do, she took out some poster board and wrote a question on one.
If someone offered you the chance to change something horrible in your past would you do it? Would you do it if you knew that chance could go wrong and undo time itself?"

she set the poster board up next to her and took out a smaller tablet of paper and started to draw.

((mun is heading home, more in about an hour))

Okay, what Ran was expecting when he walked into the precinct's doors? Not what he was currently seeing. He expected an elevator ride up to the lab, to get the shakedown on anything he hadn't already been called about, and go back to processing evidence, examining trace, a normal day's work after the last few weeks of playing psychologist-slash-English-teacher to an extremely fucked up teenage victim of a human trafficking ring.

A normal day's work (usually) didn't involve wondering just how Danny Messer had slipped acid into his morning tea without him noticing, especially since they didn't live in the same building or indeed even in the same neighborhood (Ran wasn't even sure Danny knew where he lived,) or a neon sign so obnoxiously bright and close it almost made his glasses darken. And Ran lived in New York City, had lived in Tokyo before that, he was used to bright neon. Just not. Right in his face.

"...a question."

Fine, he'll bite. He's been wondering about this anyway.

"...how would you deal with suddenly finding yourself the caretaker of a teenager with PTSD and a language barrier?" He can deal with this in a professional capacity, but he's painfully aware that this will require a more personal approach.

Trisha is sitting on one of the benches by the sign, listening to the hustle and bustle of the Nexus. It's a long time before she finally speaks up with her question. "How do you face making a difficult decision?"

Oh hey, new person in the Nexus. Again. Very new, by the looks of the portal that has just closed behind him. Hit by the lights and sounds in the Nexus (really, that sign is hazardous to people's health and HERE'S THE PROOF,) he instantly falls to crouch on the ground, clutching at his head and moaning in pain.

Sensory overload. Not fun.

His hair is long, tangled and matted--a dark chocolate brown that hangs over his face--and his clothing is dirty and ratty--a sweater with a tear in the sleeve at the shoulder, and pants that hang far too loosely on his bony hips. He's also wearing a collar cinched around his neck, a contraption of thick leather and brushed metal that wouldn't have looked out of place on a dog, and he's acting like one that's been kicked to go along with.

"C-can someone turn that off?"
