Summerview
Low, maybe some language.
In-Progress |
Matt had been around for about a month now, and yet, he was still figuring some things out. Like where most of the places around town were. Granted, in that month he had finished up dealing with his grandmother's affairs, had multiple skype sessions with his youngest sister (who lived on the West Coast so trying to figure out a time to do that was always interesting), making sure he held up his end of his bed from the Superbowl, as well as going back to work and him and Nuno trying to figure out where to move to. Not that he didn't love sharing a bed with his best friend, and as much as they got along, eventually, they were going to need privacy that was more than just bathroom time. Eventually. And even Matt had to admit Nuno's bed was far more comfortable than any bed he had ever owned. But even still, there had been a lot on his plate, and he was just now starting to get around to explore this town more. He knew that no matter how much he tried to avoid thinking about it, this place was going to be some place he got familiar with, if anything, he figured it probably would be a good thing considering what he'd be up to once a month. At first he had been a little torn about it, trying to reconcile getting close with people versus that weight of accidentally hurting someone. No matter how much Nuno kept telling him it'd be fine, until he went through this a few times it was going to be something that would take a bit for it all to sink in. Though, truth be told, that was the hardest part about all of this. He'd accepted that it was going to happen. He'd accepted that he'd get through it the way he'd gotten through all of the other hard stuff in his life. And he was just trying his best not to over think it. So, in an order to not over think anything really, he decided to try and explore the town a little bit. He'd gotten off work not that long before, and had a little while before he had to be back at the apartment to make dinner, so, why not. Matt shoved his hands into his jacket pocket and started to look around, maybe try and find a place for a quick snack. Both the up and down side since all of this is that his apatite, which had been pretty big to begin with, had gotten even bigger. In all honesty, he quickly realized that he was in way over his head and was starting to feel like a creep for staring into shop windows the way that he did. Just when he thought about texting Nuno and taking all of his bullshit that came along with asking on the other side of a window he locked eyes with a girl with brightly colored hair. She waved to him, and Matt more than awkwardly waved back. Well, shit he thought as he watched the girl come out of the shop and approach him. "...Hi." he said in a little bit of a confused tone, though not entirely unfriendly. More or less how he greeted his little nephew and his friends when he had picked them all up at soccer practice when he wasn't expecting to play uncle carpool. Well, he'd gone and done it now, he was being forced into talking to people. Not that Matt didn't like talking to people, because he didn't mind it at all. Actually, he was quite friendly as a person when he wanted to be. It was more or less he wasn't expecting to talk to someone so soon from his wandering around. Oh well. Suck it up. Time to remember how to be a normal person not wrapped up in service, at work, or with family matters. Just like talking to one of your sisters he tried to coach himself and put on a small smile on his face. |
