While Matt was still clearly trying to wrap his head around this whole new world of information to him, he was also trying to ask genuine questions as well. When it came to situations like this he didn't mind admitting that he didn't know something, or needed to ask a follow up question or two. Yes, his pride could get in the way, especially if his temper was starting to flare up. However, after year of having to deal with 'make do' or figure things out so that people came home safe, well, he knew when to put that ego aside and keep going. That and while Matt liked to play the meathead sometimes, he really wasn't that dumb. His mother had always put a emphasis on education and while school hadn't been his favorite thing in the world, he hadn't been bad at it. "So," he started sounding like he was just trying to clarify. Matt tone wasn't mocking or have a harmful toxic edge to it. No, instead it sounded like he was just trying to understand a new concept and wanted to make sure that he wasn't fucking it up totally. "The plants talk then? And they can tell when other...nymphs...are around." in all honesty the only type of nymph he'd known had the world "omaniac" after it and he really did not think that it applied to this situation in the slightest.
"That's going back to the talking plant thing, right?" he said boobing his head a bit as bits and pieces started to form into his head, knowledge stowed away for later. "That's actually really handy." he started to think of all of the practical applications that could be used for. Though, at her last comments he had to laugh a bit. "I would hope so, Lord knows I've had enough training." there was a little bit of a small cocky grin spreading into the friendly one he wore just then. "I mean, I think we could make it between the two of us." he said trying to include her in that, because right now might not be the best time to talk about...all of that.
Or maybe it was since she, unsurprisingly, knew who his best friend was. It wasn't that Matt didn't love the guy, because he did, it was just Nuno was rather...unforgettable. "Yeah, that's him." the fact that she left out certain words and phrases commenting on his impressive vernacular was also rather impressive, and probably showed him more about Kenna's personality than anything else. "Very old, we go way back. Met while we were both still serving. He was my Doc." he added at the end like he usually did, trying to make Nuno sound impressive, because to him, to be a medic was very impressive. No only did they have the brains, but balls to go in where they did, and also the backbone to put up with all of the hell they tried to put them through. It was probably why they became such good friends so fast, now that he thought of it.
