Sarah had slammed her laptop shut, and if she were a violent natured person she would have thrown it. But she wasn't. She was more the type to freeze someone out if they hurt her. It was easier to just slip away, and become invisible to the person doing the harm than it was to resort to words they didn't understand. Or words they didn't want to understand. She wasn't sure what the case was anymore. It was easier just to push people away. Laptop tucked firmly beneath her arm, she stood from the bench, and began inspecting store fronts. Looking, or feeling, them out. A good many looked like they needed massive amounts of work. Something she would be glad to do. She needed the distraction. But she was no super human. She knew she wouldn't be able to do all the work on her own. Talking to Tony had helped. And she'd compromised with herself, even if they were going out tonight. She put on her cutest pink satiny dress. Huge pink bow at her waist and short fluffy skirt, showing off plenty of leg. No sleeves. Little black kitten heels. Modest make up, hair pulled up in a coil of curl at the nape of her neck. She almost felt pretty, as she moved from store front to store front. Mentally marking down potential lab space. |
